I had to push in hard in battery life and then push opposite side to 'set' the battery lid into the correct position. It worked after that. **Q: My son already lost one of the bottles. Are they sold separately?** A: Sorry but unfortunately we do not sell them separately. **Q: Both of our bottles broke, what do we do now? I have to say they exceeded my expectations. Both boys absolutely loved them. They played with them for nearly 2 hours straight after receiving them. The gun is a manageable size even for the little one, and both boys were able to operate them with ease.
