I use it in front of a doorway to alert people that entry is not permitted. People often don't read posted signs and this rope is a classy yet clear reminder that access is prohibited.The rope itself is well made with a shiny black surface. The gold end-caps aren't as classy looking because they are simply gold-painted plastic with a gold-painted clip on the end.
