I suspect they may have been stale, but that did not take away from my enjoyment. I eat the whole the bag at once, it's a small bag. For this price, I think three bags would be fair. I used to ride my bike to the nearest store as a child in Holland and would pay the equivalent of a nickel for these, but they were in a roll and they were round. I had a paper route and would use my money for wine gums. This version tasted similar, the consistency was what I was looking for and it did not disappoint.
