Although the Samsonites are lightweight, these bags are noticeably lighter when full and weight is better balanced. Because they are not rigid they are easier to wedge into the back of the car and use the space more efficiently than the suitcases. They are well made and the various storage compartments make packing easy. They're also quite stable to stand up on the wheels, much better than soft wheeled bags I've had in the past which just fell over.
