Review: Absolutely Love This Little Rice Cooker - First off it's adorable. Even my husband said it was adorable. My Zojirushi that I had own for about 14 years finally died on me and I wanted to replace it with something a little smaller, as I no longer needed 10 Cups or more. I didn't need all the bells and whistles of a Zojirushi 3 Cup rice Cooker. I just wanted a one that when you pressed the lever down it cooked rice. Not to mention, I needed a product that used up less counter top space, "actually" had a keep warm feature and cooked the rice to "my" perfection. We eat rice at just about every meal and since I received my cooker it's been used 2 times per day or more. There are no issues with over boiling. It has a drip cup on the side to catch the water as the lid is opened. Under the lid is a plastic lip that catches the condensation and sends it to the drip cup. It cooks the rice quickly. As the directions state do not leave the unit on for more than 5 hours. After that the rice will become dry and start to turn yellow (as in over cooking). This is not an issue for me, as I have noticed over the years that most rice cookers rarely let you keep them on for days and still keep rice like the day you cooked it. Since, we only need 3 Cups (dry measurement before cooking) at a time, the rice is generally eaten by the end of our meal. I have tried other 3 cup rice cookers over the years such as Black & Decker, Panasonic and other off brands and I have to say that this one cooks the rice every time. There is never any rice left uncooked. I didn't think I could love a product as much as a Zojirushi but I was wrong. This is a great little rice cooker and it fits the bill for our family. Now if we end up needing more rice, we just pop some more in and set it to cook. It's done by the time we need it during our meal. How great is that?! Definitely not into wasting and fresh rice is always the best. We mainly cook Jasmine rice. I can't speak for any other rice type as I have yet to cook with it. There is a convenient carry handle at the top but I wouldn't recommend using it when there is cooked rice inside. Only when it is empty. One more thing, the size of the cooker is about the size of a size 5 Soccer ball. Happy Cooking :-) Review: OMG. I used this about a half dozen times ... - OMG. I used this about a half dozen times, finally figured out how to cook the rice without the residue steam coming out while cooking and making a big mess. Went to use it tonight and smelled electrical burning . . . opened up the lid and the whole top part came apart from the base, exposing the wires, connectors, etc. Then the red trim about middle came off and the plate in the front where the on/off switch is came off as well. Basically the whole thing came apart in my hands and I'm past the 30 day return policy!
