THESE ARE GREAT! So versatle and fun to use! Using the combs on your pets is really wonderful as they reach into their coats and the hair comes out in almost clumps. I think that you can use any hair length as the comb is so sturdy and workable too. I been feeding a stary cat x 2 weeks. I have never done any thing with a cat, I am a huge dog person and never had a cat. . My 2 Labrador retrievers died over 2 years ago with cancer. This cat actually let me comb him slowly and he loved it. I have never dealt with a cat and its so new to me. And I guess I may be a new owner of cat who lets me comb him daily. He seems to enjoy the massage and gentle grooming. I let him smell the comb first. I did not want to scare him. He was so matted up and I gently combed his Hair out. His appearance is much better. His Hair length is I am guessing not too long or too short since I am not knowledgebale about cats. The quality of this comb is excellent. Then I guess he kissed me.....since he licked my arm. I do not know what that mean. I think he may like me. Not sure. Only owned dogs before.

I noticed that my cat's groomer uses a comb similar to these two, so I thought that I'd buy them to keep my Maine Coon baby's coat free of tangles and matts in between his visits to the groomer's. These arrived the day before his appointment, and I tried to comb out a matt on his 'mane' area. No luck. The next day, at the groomer's, I noticed that the groomer first used a bit of detangling spray paired with a bristle-y brush, and *then* she used the comb. It seems that brush = detangle/matt, comb = finish off. So I guess I'll still be brushing him daily, then combing him.

Oh my goodness, this is THE BEST comb for my long-haired cats, as well as my very short-coated dogs!! It glides through the cats hair, removing any snarls easily and painlessly. It is a great de-shedding tool for the dogs. My cats and dogs just lay there like it is the best feeling ever. I HIGHLY recommend these combs, the small and large are perfect to get the entire animal with ease.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered it but very happy when they arrived. Fit nicely in my dog's grooming bag and very good quality too.

I write this review in awe. All my life I’ve only ever had short-haired cats. When we adopted this cat off the streets, he was in very poor shape and appeared to be a short-haired cat too. Well, he turned out to be a Siberian. We live in a hot and humid tropical country. This is not a good combination. Keeping his new luxurious coat, the state of our house, and everyone’s tempers in good shape has been a bit of a learning curve. This cat has a wirey thick undercoat that mats easily and turns into hairballs that either upset his tummy, appetite, general mood, or all three. He is also a Fiercely Independent Macho Man. Grooming a grump that is set in his ways is not for the faint of heart, but these combs were happily tolerated. They slipped through his fur and gently pulled out matted tufts with the silkiest of whispers. He only let me de-tuft him for 90 seconds at the most, but the amount removed in that small window of time was easily the size of one of his bigger hairballs. This is a huge win in my book. To my great surprise, he seemed to like the comb very much on his head and around his ruff and muttonchops, and insisted on being combed for at least 10 minutes. He purred up a storm before passing out. I attribute this to how gently rounded the comb’s teeth are, and perhaps how the comb felt cool to the touch because it’s made of steel. We have spent a lot of money on all kinds of brushes, and one promising session will not undo the years of grooming glooms this cat seems to have gone through before arriving in my life, but these humble and modestly-priced combs are well worth their weight in gold for the hope of happiness and hygiene they’ve restored to my household. 5/5 stars.
