The updated version should be available by March. I read all the reviews, heard all the complaints, but I still wanted to have a coffeemaker that matched my other Smeg appliances. So, my biggest beef is that it’s difficult to pour the water into the coffeemaker. I could not understand from the reviewshow this could be a problem, but it is. The lid does not open far enough to allow you to pour all of the water in. Yes, the beeping is annoying, and the fact that the machine turns off after 20 min is short sighted, but the main reason for buying it still is “ the machine makes great tasting coffee!! Isn’t that the ultimate goal here? No it’s not the most well thought out design, but it looks awesome, and makes great tasting coffee! I’ll deal with the minor issues. But, remember, “it’s better to look go, than to feel good”. We should all have such problems.
