It protects the back and the edge with perfect alignment. The back is tough to prevent from being dent or bent. It has four tiny stands that further lift body to protect the lens from being scratched on any surface. The four corners have special design that looks like air cushion. It's the perfect amount of thickness (not too thick and not bulky!) and it looks so nice if you put little stickers, tickets, etc in the back. Scratches easily but I think that's to be expected. The case extends to the front of my screen so if it ever fell screen side flat, the screen wouldn't hit the ground and the case would take the impact.
