My wife and I love it and have become addicted to fresh coffee in the morning.PROS- Makes great coffees, espressos, and cappuccinos that even coffee snobs will love- Easy to use and keeps itself clean- Have not had any problems with any of the beans we've tried- Seems reliable with no issues in 6 months of daily+ use- Definitely a conversation piece - guests love to play around with the different options- Has made us more knowledgable about different coffee preparations (e.g. "Long Black", "Flat White")- Machine makes it easy to collect dry ground coffee in the container (dry coffee grounds are great for gardens & compost)CONS- Very expensive- Almost not a con, but the machine does ask you to clean itself fairly regularly. You often can bypass the self-clean, but sometimes it asks you to clean when all you want is some coffee.- When you make a "Red Eye Coffee", the machine always leads you through emptying all the containers, even though it doesn't do that for other coffee types and even if everything is already empty- Each coffee can take awhile, so it's not the best if you have a lot of coffees to make at once (for that we just use our drip machine). With smaller mugs, you can make two at once.- You'll drink lots more coffeeTIPS- If you're having people over, you should schedule an automatic clean before they arrive as you don't want the machine trying to clean itself when you want to prep a lot of coffee- Treat yourself to some double-walled glass coffee mugs so you can marvel in the creations this machine whips up- Some recipes yield smaller max sizes (5oz). You can also use this feature to make two coffees at once. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars NO WARRANTY and coffee bean reservoir often pops open when brewing *by P***W on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2020* The media could not be loaded.  I bought one of these machines two months ago on Amazon new and did not pay much attention to the name of the seller (DC-Trading). It is generally a nice machine that makes good-tasting coffee; however, there is a recurrent problem where the lid of the coffee bean reservoir, which is closed by a magnetic latch, tends to pop open during the brewing process (see the attached video). Krups' help line is closed due to Covid so I sent them an email, hoping that they would have a way to resolve this problem. Here is their reply:"We regret to learn that you have experienced any difficulties with your Krups product.Krups warrants their electrical appliances to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) year from the date of the original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchase and does not apply to commercial use, unreasonable use or to damage to the product (not resulting from defect or malfunction) while in possession of the consumer.Based upon the information you have provided; your unit is beyond the terms of our warranty as DC-Trading is a 3rd party seller and as such the warranty dose not apply, you can still send your unit to one of our authorized service centers for evaluation and potential repair."So BEWARE when buying this unit here, even when it is sold as new- I don't know if this applies regardless of who the seller is but now I have an expensive machine with no warranty with a coffee reservoir lid that tends to pop open. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Machine unreliable and poor support from Krups *by S***B on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2021* We bought our machine in Feb 2017. Pros - It makes great espresso, latte, coffee. Cons - it has broken three times. The repairs each time took months due to difficulties getting parts from Krups, and we took it to the Krups authorized repair facility in Bellevue, WA. The main board has gone out twice. The last repair took 9 months due to delays getting a new board (some delay probably due to COVID). We picked it up from the last repair three months ago and it's starting to fail again (multiple requests to run cleaning cycles while trying to make a coffee, makes espresso about half the time, halts mid-cycle). Very disappointing for this expensive of machine and a major manufacturer.
