If you want a sword You can use as a sword more than once on a defensive target then this isn’t it this is a water bottle cutter fruit cutter that kind of thing. great sword, buy it. OK, that was for those of you that hate long reads. So... It has a slight distal taper. Man, feels so alive in the hands! The Tsuka ito (on mine) is super tight with well defined diamonds. The Habaki was just a touch loose, that may not be common, I don't know, it was an easy fix. The picture of the Oni does not do it justice. Its quite attractive. The Kashira is not glued but is very secure. While it says the handle is removable, I don't know man. Mine is awfully tight. I attempted to remove it in the "traditional" way with no joy. I then put my feet on the Tsuba while grasping the Tsuka and with all my force accomplished nothing. I'm sure it can be done. But I'm not gonna. Least not right now. The Saya is beautiful but the lacquer (finish) is fragile. The Sito? (Can't remember) is glued in. Could be a pain when you change the Sageo, friction fit would be nice but that would drive the price up, and the price seems to be mostly in the blade so, hell yeah says I! You probably are going to want change the Sageo by the by. So thin, so crappy. My Saya does have a great fit, and the line from the bottom of said Saya to the tip of the Tsuka is so pleasing to the eye that honestly you'll just have to see it (or have seen such) to understand it. The Tsuba is tight as can be and seems to pressed or pounded on. Lets see... Ah, The Seppa. Not the cheap cut out variety, get me? Like, the 80hurt looking things. These are nicer. The genuine ray skin is indeed genuine ray skin but they are strips and don't wrap around the Tsuka. (Is what it is). It does have a Koyiguci though, who knows if its buffalo horn. The Kassaki, while defined in appearance is not defined in geometry, meaning its brushed on. Still attractive. Hamon will very of course mine is beautiful. Lustrous seems a fair description. What else? Oh! The kurigata is not buffalo horn. My Sori is three quarters of an inch and just, so pleasing to the old soul winders. And now, if you've made it this far my only complaint... Its the cut out on the Tsuba. They are sharp lil bastards! To be fair if you were holding the sword properly like when cutting or practicing you'd be fine but, like I enjoy (in my alone time, don't judge me) to just kinda twirl and swing mine around and in that instant. In that regard? Its just a touch tricky. As I write this I have two spots of shaved skin on my hand. That makes me wonder (and maybe you) if in an actual moment of OH MY GOD PLEASE DONT KILL ME! Self defense (god forbid, I suppose) it wouldn't become an issue. I mean I'm sure at the time you wouldn't notice but what if it got infected? Yeah. What if it was a for real Zombie apocalypse and you ended up dying from infection? Didn't think of that did you? Dont worry. I got you. A small file fixes this problem in about 10 minutes. So, in closing. Great sword. File the cut outs in the Tsuba just in case. Although, can you imagine? A Zombie apocalypse does break loose and you've ran out of bullets and all you've got is this sword and you manage to save not only yourself but those close to you and you're like a hero but as it turns out in the bru ha ha the damn guard shaves your knuckle and gets infected?
