Kinkajou Bottle Cutter-Janey

I absolutely love this bottle cutter. It is easy to use, however there are a few hurdles. It is possible to turn the cutter without matching up and he circle ends and it takes a few pratice cuts before you can get the hang of it. Also I've had a few glasses break jagged and not entirely on the score but sanding can fix little errors.Overall this is great for diy projects and I've been able to make a few cups and candles, but it does take some serious practice.

Had to cut bottoms off of 20 wine bottles. I made one bad for every good until I learned a few tricks, then they went perfectly. Use very hot and very cold water. I used ice water and had a pot boiling. Score lightly, it will help you control the tool as you circumscribe. Critical to have the scribed lines meet exactly, so check as you go to make sure things stay parallel. Also, scored glass is somewhat temporary. So It is important to temperature shock it quickly. I had little use for the rubber rings they sent. They slowed things down.

Takes time and practice to get your cuts just right and not shatter the bottle.

Great little tool; everything I wanted. Easy to use and even easier to learn HOW to use it. First score line didn't work; move Kinkajou down a quarter inch and try again. So far, haven't gone past three score lines before I got a good one. And using the hot and cold water to stress the glass is the easiest thing! Watch the YouTube vids and you'll be an expert right out of the gate. Worth the money for a fun way to "recycle" your wine bottles; every kind of bottle that the Kinkajou will fit around.

Product works great and my GF loves it. The product performs perfectly but some times the user falters. It is Very important to keep an eye on your line and keep the Kinkajou as level as possible. Also, you dont need to clamp down on to the bottle to the point where your cutting a trench. You just want to score the bottle. if you can see a constant mark, that is tight enough. Rapid thermal expansion and contraction will do the rest

The merchant was terrific ! However, the bottle cutter itself is a little hard to get a perfect score mark. Incorporating a bubble level into the plastic in the jig would help alleviate this problem for most people.

Was super disappointed in this product, I was really excited to try it. I thought it was going to make the whole process a lot easier. However as there’s no way to firmly hold in place, it can slip ever so slightly then the cut doesn’t line up and the bottle is useless.I lost more bottles than I had successful attempts. I ended up refunding this and buying a traditional bottle cutter where the bottle lies flat and I don’t need to worry about the cut not lining up.
