## Description

Red and buff clays combined with medium mesh grog that results in more porous pottery, reduces cracking, shrinkage, warpage. Fires to a terra cotta color at Cone 06 and to a darker red-brown at Cone 5. Talc free. Non-toxic. Two 25-lb. plastic bags in container.

Review: tuff and strong - when I first started using this clay to make Ollas I had a really hard time with it because it has so much coarse grog but now that I have gotten used to it I wouldn't use anything else. It comes in very consistent but a little to dry I found that moistening it up a bit really makes it easier to work. Fire at 1652f and it makes very nice garden Ollas that weep water well
Review: Decent clay - Pretty good clay but has a lot of grog. Fine for hand building. I would not use for throwing. It does fire well.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be baked in a kitchen oven? It says low fire, as a real homecrafter I have no idea what that means. Any real hobbiest that can help?**
A: You will need a kiln to reach the temperature requirements for cones 06 to 5 (approximately 1800-2200°F). A standard kitchen oven will not fire anywhere near hot enough (usually limited around 500°F).

**Q: Can it be done in a gas oven?**
A: Sorry no video, in answer to your question, no it cannot be fired In a gas oven it requires a kiln.

**Q: Can this clay be fired to cone 6, or is that too much for it to handle?**
A: I pretty sure that I have fired this to cone 6. I often blend clays, so my memory fails me. Good luck with your project.

**Q: Can I use this to make ollas for garden efficient watering?**
A: This clay needs to be shaped into an ollas then fired in a kiln before you could use it as one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to work with
*by U***R on June 21, 2022*

Yeah, it’s got sand in it, but I think it is easy for a beginner to get a decent shape. It is sturdier than the clay I usually use (Sedona red) and isn’t as quick to collapse. The final texture will not be smooth, but it is intersting!
