Love conquers fear
This is an entertaining, satisfying rodeo/cowboy story centered on the relationship between rodeo pickup man Bridge and EMT Eric. The two men met into Bk 1 and their relationship really heated up in this book. Bridge initially identifies as heterosexual, but as he gets to know Eric, he realizes he is more likely bisexual, especially as he remembers his encounter with a man in college. All he knows is that he's never been as attracted to anyone as he is to Eric. Eric reciprocates the attraction, but he has a lot of abandonment issues related to his parents putting him in foster care as a teen and all that happened after. Can these two men find their way through their issues to get the type of commitment they want? This book has a great group of rodeo friends, supportive family on Bridge's side, red hot passion, and a love that transcends life's challenges.

A wild rodeo pick-up rider finds his love in a strong EMT!
A wild rodeo pick-up rider finds his love in a strong EMT!Does Bridge have an awakening, or is he gay? or bi? Is it just Eric that rings all of the bells? We get to watch in anticipation as Bridge, 28, with long blonde hair and brown eyes, and solid muscles, flirts with Eric. Eric, 30, with short cropped dark blonde hair and blue eyes, is also muscled and loves his job taking care of folks. He fixes up Bridges injury.Their slow progress is fun, and each man feels the spark. Eric's past sadness is told and there has been no one in his life that has ever chosen him, not even his own folks. He's afraid to be let go once again.Bridge knows he wants Eric, for sure, and he's absolutely certain, and will try to show Eric how much he means to him. Pick This One Up & Ride It!
The second--and somewhat decidedly different in approach--of the Pickup Men series, Let It Ride brings back the main protagonists of the first book but takes a sharp departure in what you might expect from one of them in the Prologue. Here we revisit Bridge Sullivan, the tall, shaggy blond stud who seems to be the straightest of the life-long trio of rodeo pick-up men which include his ranch co-owner Kent and their openly gay pal Marty. It was Marty who forced his secret lover, champion bull rider Tripp, to eventually come out in the rip roaring, heartbreaking and somewhat violent first book. In that book Bridge was somewhat of a fringe character but clearly identified by the rest of the rodeo crowd (and perhaps the author) as a ladies' man. However, the Prologue here gives us a new twist on defining gay, bi, or straight when we find out Bridge has become obsessed over the past four months with Eric Palmer, ex-New Yorker who was assigned to be the paramedic for the rodeo circuit and became fast friends with the other three guys. The first book was clear that Eric was gay, not particularly closeted, but also extremely careful in the way he expressed his sexual identity around his new friends and in their milieu. In Let It Ride it becomes obvious that he and Bridge have deep, and very erotic, feelings about each other and their inability to be honest with each other at first is doomed. But it leads to an explosive and somewhat troubled romance that will grip you with its clarity and contradictions, and draw you into a world where the prejudices of the past have been rapidly deteriorating to the acceptances of the present--and future. This is a wonderfully written, beautifully paced, and in the end quite believable book that will have you breathing heavily throughout. Do yourself a favor and read Pickup Men first--there is more true rodeo based excitement in it and an exceptionally heart felt romance that will set you up for a heck of a gallop in Let It Ride.

Lots of love!
Eric has lost a lot in his life and the last thing he wants to do is lose his new friends but Bridge wants more and is determined to have it. Eric needs and deserves love and Bridge wants to give Eric that and more all he has to do is take it. I loved these two and this story is was tough at times with Eric's struggles but Bridge was so understanding and there the whole time. Oh and cowboys yes please!!!

This is as good as the first! Love my pickup men!
The sequel to The Pickup Men is as heartwarming as the first! The story picks up where Pickup Men ends. Bridge is one of Marty's best friends from Pickup Men. He has never had an issue with Marty being gay. And lately, he has been obsessed with Eric, the paramedic who has become a member of their tight-knit group. And Even though Eric is equally as smitten by Bridge, Eric has issues. First of all, Everyone thinks Bridge is straight. For Eric, it's more than just a physical attraction. He finally has friends who cares about and they seem to like him too. But if the thing with Bridge goes south, he risks more than a quick romp. And Bridge tries to convince Eric that it's more than sex...How can you not love someone as gregarious and giving as Bridge? He is sexy, fiercely loyal, and so much fun to be around. Eric's past prevent him from trusting in love, trusting in himself. Ms Chase once again delivers believable characters that you care about. And you get to see more of Marty and Tripp!

Itโs a romance, which is told through the top class prose of LC Chase, that few writers can even imagine competing with.
I couldnโt wait to start reading this story because the last one was so good. Eric is a gay paramedic, and Bridge is thought of as a heterosexual cowboy, but heโs also encountered a sex with a guy before. The story provoked thought about labelling and sexuality. Iโm never sure myself about whether labelling is a good thing or not, but society seems to be reliant on it to help us identify โwhat people are.โ Anyhow, the story supersedes all of this by illustrating love is about the person not the sex of the person. I actually enjoyed this story more than the first one although I couldnโt say it was anything to do with the way it was written, but more to do with me identifying with both of the characters quite closely. Oh my word did I cry โฆ but of course there is a HEA as always. It reminds me that the road to true love can be such a bumpy one and we can do such silly things out of fear. Again, itโs a romance, which is told through the top class prose of LC Chase, that few writers can even imagine competing with. Also note that Chase has a string of accolades for her work and this story is another top class romance.

I enjoyed the first book in this series but this one is much better. In every way.The writing is better, the emotions are better, the characters are more defined and have more development. It's a great second instalment and I look forward to reading the third.
