How many year?** A: I looked on the Gemeinhardt website bc I doubted the price (usually $2000 and up) and Amazon is listed as an UNAUTHORIZED dealer. Which means the flute you get won’t be covered on any warranty. **Q: Is the flute new? Is it a black thick case? It only says black plastic, and I am bit lost. Can you display a photo of the case?** A: Yes the flute is brand new. I bought one for a student and it is excellent. The case is very thick and there is a velvet lining inside to protect the flute. It is not a plastic that you would think of. I can't really describe it, but it is extremely sturdy. Let's put it this way, I have been a flutist for 31 years and I have dropped the cases many, many times and the wasn't even a scratch in the case and the flute was fine. My gemeinhardt 3OSB was made in China I guess around 2013. The NG1 head joint that came with my 3OSB is made in USA. They have some operations in both countries.
