However, I seem to be having terrible luck with wooden wicks. I soak them in olive oil for a while, as people recommend, but they still seem to burn out before they can really start melting the wax for candles. I am open to any suggestions! Also because I am a beginner, I have been having problems with sinkholes in my candles, around the wicks. I think I have to cool my wax slightly before I pour it into the candle I am making, although I still have to test this out.
