Review: Perfect, compact, easy to use, excellent picture quality - I bought this camera for my mother, who recently became a first time grandma. As you can imagine, lots of pictures have been taken on this camera. While searching for the perfect point and shoot camera, I really had to find something for a person who has difficulty with complicated technological things. She used to have a Samsung camera that had lots of different settings and features, which was nice but just not for my mom. I always like Canon for myself and find this inexpensive awesome camera. It was easy to set up and my mom loves using it. She just keeps it on an auto setting and just has to know how to turn it on, take picture, use flash, turn it off. She always has this camera with her. It is very compact and could easily fit in a pocket of purse. My mom has been using this camera since around January, so over 3 months and it has not had any problems thus far. I was also support satisfied about the deal that came with the memory card also! Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Thank you for reading my review. Please let me know if you found this helpful.
Review: Great little camera for beginners - Just being introduced into the world of photography and want a camera with a good name and reputation behind it? Here ya go. I have been a die hard Canon fan for over 30 years. For a point and shoot pocket camera I prefer the SX series over ELPH, however, the ELPH series are absolutely great for someone who is just starting out and doesn't want to get overwhelmed with changing settings, etc. I might be the exception to the rule, starting with a SLR camera when I was in high school, then moved on to getting a pocket camera to have something to carry around easily. (Note: SLR was not a typo. I began photography when we had to use actual FILM. I had my first digital camera back in the mid 90s and that thing was awful... no flash and I think it was 1mp. ha ha ha... Times have sure changed in the world of digital cameras!) This particular camera I bought used. The seller was honest in stating the shutter cover didn't close completely. But a Canon for under $20 for my teenage son to start learning how to take pictures was a gamble I just had to take. Since I've been using Canons forever, I know they are built on quality. There is a reason for their reputation... they make good stuff. When I received the camera, I realized there was a very small dent in front. Obviously the camera was hit or crushed by whoever owned it before me. The dent was preventing the shutter cover from closing. All I did was pull out the dent just a TINY bit (I have steady hands and am used to working on very small things because I make jewelry) and the shutter cover works perfectly. I tested it many times over and over, and the cover works flawlessly now. Aside from a small mark that indicates where the camera was hit, the thing is working perfectly as it was intended to. Perfect example of Canon quality and why I've been a fan girl for so long, and always will be. Please excuse the not-so-great quality of the photo of the camera, lol... ironic, but I didn't use a good camera to take the picture, I used my phone camera, which is not great quality. Anyway, you get the idea.

*by C***A on November 7, 2025*

I love it!!!! Once I transfer the photos to my phone, you can really see how good they look! Great starter camera and travel camera. Wasn’t looking for anything too fancy or “professional” like. It was meant for fun, travel and selfies. Not sure about battery life yet but hopefully it holds up!
