This book follows a young cacti who only wants a hug but their family fails to notice. They meet a new friend and just as they being to hug disaster strikes. The cacti is blamed and still not given a hug to be consoled so they pack their things and hit the road in search of a friend. Met with unfriendly strangers the cacti thinks perhaps a life of solitude is the solution... until they find someone in need and know just what to do. Great social-emotional tool for young children.

Oddest story with negative portrayal of family in opening pages. Pictures of angry people with newspapers (what century are we in) blaming cactus for balloon pop.  This is for children?  Then cactus goes of to live by himself.  that's what you want your child to become, a hermit?Perfect if you want your child to grow up disturbed.  Save your $14 and thousands of dollars in therapy for your child, save lives by preventing your child from being the next headline shooter from this story.
