Just by visual inspection I can tell the oem ones have a much higher quality and attention to detail compared to the Duralast brand. I'll up date if my opinion changes as I use them but for now I'd say these are about the best quality pads for your Ford truck. I replaced them with 2mm and 3mm left on the rear brakes so of course I didn't notice the difference between the new and old sets which is the way it should be. Yes, there is a metal plate beneath the ceramic which may or may not stop you in time, but metal on metal can damage the calipers (braking mechanism) so you shouldn't wait if yours need to be replaced. I can't think of a more important part of the car than the brakes. Maybe the generic or remanufactured brands are as good, maybe they're not. Do you really want to have to wonder? Motorcraft is the brand name for all Ford parts.
