I do like the fact that they are black as they blend in better with my furniture and aren't an eyesore like the cheaper white ones from the other company. The plastic is pretty sturdy and I can tell they are stronger than the ClimbUp Interceptors. It is reinforced especially so only in the dead center; however, it is still plastic and I still think it can break on carpet...one of the major complaints of the ClimbUp version. As a precaution, I've reinforced them even more with a 5" diameter "Door Knob and Wall Shield" from Home Depot (Picture Uploaded). I tried finding a metal fender washer big enough but gave up looking for it and didn't want to have to use silicone glue etc. I also didn't want to add a super thick piece of wood under it. The thinner plywood I looked at was very porous and would have been a perfect hiding place for bed bugs...so that idea was nixed. This is why I ended up going with plastic to do the reinforcing job. The "Door Knob and Wall" shields from Home Depot came with adhesive backings and the 5" ones fit perfectly at the center base of this product. If you want even more support from the shields, you can flip them and use a super glue. Of course, no reinforcing is necessary if you are using these on hardwood floors. These are pretty large and I hope that they will come out with a more medium and even a small version for smaller furniture legs. My furniture legs are pretty slim so these do protrude more than I would like. Nonetheless, a small price to pay for peace of mind. All in all, I'm satisfied with the product and like the fact that I don't need to put chemicals into them. I still plan on using Diatomaceous Earth though. This company should reinforce the bottom even more with non-plastic material. Review: Strong and great protection - Just what we needed to protect my mom. I got this in order to monitor if they actually are gone. I haven't caught any bed bugs yet but I found some other bugs in there. So I'm assuming that if bed bugs do climb into these things that it will work the same as catching the others.
