Our 6th and 8th graders loved being paleontologists for the day! The excitement of discovering ancient fossils was unforgettable—especially when one student uncovered fossilized poop (coprolite)! Learning was fun, messy, and full of surprises!

This was the perfect donation to my child’s 2nd grade Paleontologist Day at school. It took quite some time to dig out the treasure inside each nicely sized square fossil brick so it wasn’t a quickie kinda fun activity. The kids really got into it and were so excited for the surprise inside. Identification cards and hammers are included. Great value! Activity level, in my opinion (and having bought these for a few years for my own boys), pre-k to maybe 3rd graders so 5-9 years.

Great little product. I am homeschooling this year and it was a great little hands on project while we are learning about earth, fossils, dinosaurs....Directions say to let them sit in water first for 5 minutes we did our first one without adding water and our 2nd with water, the rest without water! After you let it sit in the water it is not any easier to chop away at it and it turns into a messy clay that gets all over the tools and your hands. We stuck to no water! I was a little let down because the objects were placed pretty much right at the top of the brick. Also, there was one brick that didnt have anything in and we made sure by breaking the brick into tiny pieces lol. It was the stingray tooth that was missing so that was a bummer. I wrote to the company in hope of a response and maybe a brick with the stingray tooth it's the weekend so I havent gotten a reply yet, we shall see how that goes. Overall, I would recommend to anyone doing homeschooling or just looking for a little fossil dig activity. My 7 year old wanted to start it right when he saw it and he didnt want to stop digging!!!

Working for it enhances the experience. The grandkids love to dig for these fossils.

My two boys love dinosaurs and fossils. We have ordered a lot of different fossil dig kits and they were all ok but the fossils were pretty poor quality. The teeth always came broken and some you couldn’t even tell what they were. We ordered this kit yesterday and my two boys just excavated them and love all of the fossils! The 3 teeth we got are perfect specimens and the other fossils are great as well! My boys are going to make necklaces with their shark teeth. We loved it so much that I ordered another today!

For now, try a different brand. There were a couple school kids disappointed when they only found a shiny rock inside. The teacher was able to find replacement fossils out of her display collection, but that is tacky. The fossils that did come out were good. Maybe a Quality Assurance issue?

This was so much fun. My son loved it. The tools included were a bit small and sharp for him- but we used a screw driver and he had a blast chipping into the cubes to find his fossils! The picture cards also provided him with a matching activity once he finished “digging “ out his fossil. The informational cards were great too- so we got a bit of reading in as well. All around awesome activity for my little one!

Bought this for my nephew for his birthday. It went off as a huge hit. What a great idea for kids. It’s kind of like playing and learning at the same time.

I used these in a class of children and was quite disappointed. Two of the blocks did not have anything in them and one of them had something in that wasn’t on the fossil list provided.

Used for my sons bday. Some were hard to tell what they were and some we didn't find at all but the kids all still had a blast with these!

Très apprécié par mon garçon! Par contre, faire attention car un des fossiles s'est brisé en cassant le bloc. Mais les autres étaient parfaits! Belles cartes explicatives aussi. Il serait bien d'ajouter les descriptions en français aussi.

This is a gift, but it seems great.
