I've grown up with knives, when attached to the FMF (Fleet Marine Force) as a corpsman, I was introduced to the K-Bar. Waaaay to long a blade, very unwieldy. This is the finest, best handling tactical knife I've ever handled. It would work very well in a hunter's hands too. Only one problem. The scabbard is made to attach to the load carrying Molle type vests. It comes with a short and long "Malice Strap". Making a belt loop (use short one) is not intuitive. Head of malice strap sits in between two horizontal clip ports. Run the bitter end (the opposite of the "buckle") through the top horizontal slot, bend back over slide slot then down through buckle. Look up "malice strap" on YouTube for video instruction. These are new to Benchmade so you won't get any help there unless they paid attention to the pictures I sent them. If I could give this fixed blade Contego six stars, I would. The G-10 handle sticks in your hand like natural material, blade is long enough to be very useful, but not so long to get in your way. Fits Sunlover's hand just as good as this SEAL with monster hands. An inexperienced person will think this knife is expensive, a SpecOps or hunter of other game will find it an incredible value. Have not used it intensely as of yet but am confident it will impress. The knife is great but the company is archaic and childish. I asked 1 simple question and they don't have the dignity to respond. All I want to know is why won't they upgrade their steels? S30V is a good steel but it is now old and there are far better steels. If you are going to keep making knives out of old steels that are not worth as much any more, then why are the prices still sky high? Why would you let every other knife company pass you by? Heck even Esee is making knives out of CPM S35VN! But you know what go ahead and keep deleting my questions while the other companies make you look like what you are. Overpriced garbage! I watched a show on your 2020 knives and was struck asking myself "what did they show that was new?" and I couldn't find an answer... WOW! you changed the scales on a few knives, gee so innovative!
