I decided that I would try Vitamin C serum (boosts collagen for firmness and reverses cell damage which will lighten discoloration) and hyaluronic acid (hydration without oily feeling. HA can hold 1000 times its weight in water). Lastly, I needed a moisturizer and found one for combination skin. This is just the new morning routine. Nighttime is micellar water to wipe away makeup, followed by cleansing oil. I decided that I would use a retinol serum (a form of Vitamin A that can clear up acne, even skin tone and color. it can be harsh at first and can make a person sun sensitive. so good at nighttime.) I was able to find all of these new items at Walmart. I spent about $60 total. After one night and one morning, the flaky skin was practically gone. I'm 4 days in now. The foundation went on so much better and didn't catch on any dry skin. By the 4th day I was getting quicker with using the primer and foundation. At first I didn't think the primer was doing anything or thought I wasn't using enough. But I looked closer and realized that it gave a matte look. Hopefully that's what its supposed to do.
