After installing, the bridge pickup was not working at all, had to pull it out again. Realized that one of the metal arms(?) inside was not making solid contact, even when in the middle/neck position. I had to use tweezers to bend the arm so it would make contact. That fixed the issue, and with this new switch the popping/static is gone.
