Does it vacuum them out? Vibrate them out?** A: This is a location and removal assistance device. It shines a bright LED in the back of your mouth and has a translucent extension adaptor that allows you to navigate around the tonsils and help remove the stones when found. It does not vacuum or vibrate. **Q: So how is this more effective than using 2 bobby pins that are glued together at the middle (for extended reach) and holding a flashlight?** A: To be honest with you, this tool did not light up enough and was not really long enough. I actually have the most success using an extra long swab which I purchased on Amazon for about $5 for 100, and a regular flash light. I soak the swab in Thieves Essential Oil, and use it to poke the stone out, like a pimple. It is gross but very effective. **Q: Does everyone have stones or do you know it when you do? Do you buy this and find them? Does it hurt to have or remove them? Thanks** A: Not everyone, but many people do and may not know it. This tool can help you search, locate, and remove them. It does not hurt, they just hide behind the tonsils in crevices and you use this to find them and scoop them out. **Q: Can you please advise how to change the battery as we have no instruction leaflet. Thank you** A: Sure, it is quite simple. Just remove the end cap at the base of the unit, unscrew the top portion, carefully separate the two sides to expose the batteries, remove and replace. Please take note of how the connections are assembled prior to removing the batteries as they will need to go back in exactly as you have removed. It should take no more than a minute or so. The water syringe is an added bonus for the smaller debris and too works awesome.Now for the reality check between the two LED units, one is outrageously expensive and the other is not. I bought them both as a study and to my basic knowledge, they appear to be from the same manufacturer.
