I used to install professional systems all over North America, so I know what high end ones will do. I just wanted a low cost unit to do a few cameras well. First of all it powers up taking you through the setup. It does this in clear well written English, and it has 7 other languages, but I'm a Yank, so it was a treat for a tech product. They do not include a printed manual, but offer a link to a full 37 page Quick start guide and several other pieces of software, like a free program to process your videos on a computer. The digital operation manual is 394 pages. We are talking tech product rare air here. I have not read it, but it looks pretty complete and it is well written. Anything with this effort is going to have great features. It comes with a mouse and remote. The remote offers basic operations, but not enough to program the units advanced features. Security includes pattern recognition for basic features.I have not tried tech support so no rating on that. I still don't have PTZ working. I probably need to remember what protocol my camera uses of the dozens this emulates.I definitely recommend this unit for people who got the sub $100 units and ended up writing you get what you pay for. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ How To use BOTH WIFI and Ethernet Port at same time with CORRECT USB-WIFI ADAPTER *by J***E on November 18, 2021* After much frustration trying to find which USB WIFI Adapter to buy after HDView (seller) had no clue and told me to get a VONET device which actually plugs into the RJ45 Ethernet port and converts a WIRED into WIRELESS. The most recent answer to my question about WHICH USB-Wifi-Adapter will work they said "sorry we confused what is USB Wifi Adapter". This product has a Linux OS and installs a SPECIFIC set of WiFi drivers when it boots up. Long story short I plugged in a USB MEMORY STICK into the front USB port and booted up. In doing so the DVR will put a TEXT file on the memory stick for debugging. (If you leave it in, it will record EVERYTHING the DVR is doing up to the point you remove it including it trying to CALL HOME via Internet) So the DVR is loading WIFI Drivers for a Realtek RTL8811AU chipset. So ANY USB-Adapter with this chipset will let you use the USB port for WIFI. I wanted to use BOTH the Ethernet port which connects to my ROUTER and has 4 wireless cameras connecting to it, the router then sends those 4 streams to the DVR via Ethernet cable at 100MPS but anymore streams than that and the DVR craps out, thus I wanted to put 4 more cameras on the DVR via it's built in WIFI ability. Now I have 8 wireless cameras connected, 4 via Ethernet Port and 4 via USB WIFI adapter. The TRICK IS 4 and 4 must be on different Network segments as the DVR has two MAC address's one for Ethernet and one for WIFI. IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM and I got 8 5MP wireless mixed/generic cams streaming at 5 MP and 4 1080P cams connected to the BNC ports. Had I not stumbled across the DVR writing a debug text file to the memory stick I would have never figured out which USB WIFI ADAPATER works. The one I got is WiFi Nation 802.11ac AC600 Fast USB WiFi Adapter, Wireless dongle with 2dBi dipole SMA Antenna, chipset: Realtek RTL8811AU, Dual Band 2.4GHz or 5GHz, Windows, MacOS and Linux Supported.
