My wife and I have 2001 Kawasaki VN800A bikes with only 10,000 miles on them. I replaced the original filters at 5,000 miles and plan to continue at this interval. I developed carburetor issues and while servicing the bike at the 10,000 mile mark I looked at the air filter and the foam rubber around the filter was falling apart and could get sucked into the engine. I remember the factory replacements were around $50.00 so I decided to look an Amazon. I found these for under $50.00 and purchased one for each of our bikes.These filters are well constructed. The filter it's self has solid rubber instead of foam rubber. This should hold up much better. There is a sticky back piece of sponge rubber that attaches to the inside of the cover and it looks very durable. I have them both on the bikes and see no change in the way they perform. This is a smart replacement for the factory filter.
