This fifth edition of Fundamentals of Risk Management is a comprehensive introduction to commercial and business risk for students and risk professionals. Providing extensive coverage of the core frameworks of business continuity planning, enterprise risk management and project risk management, this is the definitive guide to dealing with the different types of risk an organization faces. With relevant international case examples including Ericsson, Network Rail and Unilever, the book provides a full analysis of changes in contemporary risk areas including supply chain, cyber risk, risk culture and appetite, improvements in risk management documentation and statutory risk reporting. Now revised to be completely aligned with the recently updated ISO 31000 and COSO ERM Framework, this comprehensive text reflects developments in regulations, reputation risk, loss control and the value of insurance as a risk management method. Also including a thorough overview of international risk management standards and frameworks, strategy and policy, Fundamentals of Risk Management is the definitive text for those beginning or considering a career in risk. Online supporting resources include lecture slides with figures, tables and key points from the book. Review: Perfect - Would recommend for all risk managers Review: Great price - Great quality for a used book.

Very good material for anyone in risk management.
An excellent companion for any risk practitioner either as a guide for managing risks in the office or a companion as additional reading for examination. However , it seems a bit skewed towards financial institutions than non financial institutions.

Quite repetitive without many practical examples
The book arrived damaged, although the damage did not prevent me from reading it. More importantly, I'm only about 150 pages in, but I've found that some of the content is duplicated almost word-for-word except for maybe changing a word in a sentence. In other areas, the same concepts are discussed that were already mentioned. Ultimately, I feel the length of the book is excessive, especially when it's light in practical or real-world examples. Yes, there are case studies, but I wouldn't consider them as such. Instead, they're more like excerpts from orgsnizations' RM plans or standards. I suppose it's a good, general read. If you're looking for something grounded in examples, look elsewhere.

An essential roadmap and navigation resource for the Risk Management journey
All too often we bring our preconceived ideas, influences and habits to a topic that ultimately inhibits our development by not fully understanding the issue. This book is extremely helpful in starting from the beginning, educating and guiding students and professionals at all levels. It is a must read and essential inclusion in one's risk management arsenal to ensure your considerations, actions and pursuits are accurate. I highly recommend the Fundamentals of Risk Management for those that appreciate that it is not a simple "gut feeling" and is an actual learned, practiced and bonafide profession.
