I have had my car broken into twice and on both occasions they stole my expensive dash cams.** A: You would just need to unplug the Power cable (and GPS if you use that) and then the camera will slide off the Window Mount. Does this kick when hard wired just sensing movement in front of the car without any actual impact?** A: I think it is on permanent record and you can set the length of time you want it to record after the ignition is switched off. Any "events" in terms of impact are then protected within the recording. I set it so that the longest time I would leave my car unattended would be within the set recording time. You "re-format" the card every so often when reminded to remove the previously saved "events". It does switch off if the battery voltage drops below a setting that you can choose. I chose to go with the largest capacity card available (64) to retain the maximum amount of recordings, just in case. It is not visible like the dash cams that have an integrated screen. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Seems like a nice camera *by J***M on 20 October 2021* The rating I gave for this is based purely on appearances because not only did I not fit it, I didn't even open the box. My reason was simply because of the power supply being a pin instead of a USB micro, which I had already installed in my vehicle and I didn't want to go through what I had to go the last time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Complicated wiring. Not suitable for convertibles. *by R***N on 12 April 2022* I have Thinkware dashcams in other cars and they are an excellent product however I ordered this one for a soft-top convertible and it was not suitable. There is a socket and plug about 8mm in diameter about 300mm from the mounting plate and another junction with wires and jack plug & socket about 400mm along the lead. It might be possible to hide these in the windscreen surround or headlining of a conventional car but it was not suitable for the vehicle I had in mind.
