But they've went flat and, frankly, were always quite bulky. I wanted a solution that would fit better in shoes (I wear Nike and New Balance -- both training shoes and running shoes).I was so surprised to see an off the shelf product like this work well for me. Not only does it have very solid arch support (my arches are among the highest my doctor had ever seen), but they have some great cushioning as well. They make standing for long periods of time comfortable. They make long city walking comfortable. And they fit very well in my shoes (I wear a 13 and have slightly wide feet, so I wear a D in some and an E in others).You can't go wrong with trying these out. The price is right, they are available all over, and you get some nice cushioning.I compared these to the Spenco Total Support and they blew the Spencos out of the water. The Spencos were very stiff with minimal padding. I could not find any way in which to get them comfortable. Plus, as stated, these are a fair bit cheaper.Overall, this is a very solid product. I've gone through several pair of these Active Series Replacement Insoles and find they do a pretty good job of cushioning in the walking shoes. They are nearly perfect for me though I would like a little more cushion at the front. The heel is pretty much perfect for me. One pair went into my work boots and the other pair went into my hiking boots. I have been using them for a few months now and have had no problems at all.
