SRAM Supersuede Bar Tape

Because I was on a budget, I chose to go with SRAM's SuperSuede Bar Tape (white). The product arrived at my door one day later than Amazon projected (hence the 4-star rating). I installed the tape on my bars and quickly realized that the other reviewers were correct in when they posted that the tape should be about 3-4 inches longer. I was not able to figure-8 the tape around the horns. Thankfully, the hoods covered most of the bare spots left behind from not doing a figure-8 around the horns. I did not like the end caps that they provided, so I reused my Bontrager end caps. When I finished off the wrap, I taped it off with the provided tape. While other reviewers felt that the black finishing tape was not long enough, I felt that the length was fine. I have only taken a couple of rides since installing the new wrap, so I'm not sure about the durability of the wrap at this point. I do like the feel of the super suede tape, but do wish it was a bit thicker. But for the money, it is a very good tape and I wouldn't be afraid to recommend this tape.

The tape is a good thickness with a good amount of stretch, and has a suede-like texture for extra grip, but no one will mistake it for actual suede because it has a plastic-y feel (like a thin closed-cell packing foam sheet).The tape does have the SRAM logo printed on it, but it's printed off center, so you can keep it under the wraps for a logo-less look. This was my first time taping a handlebar, and this tape is very forgiving, had to redo one side 5 times before I got it right, the 3M brand adhesive on the back stayed just as sticky. A bonus is the "S" logo bar end is reflective. I recommend finishing off with a matching color  3M Scotch #35 Electrical Tape Value Pack (10457NA)

This tape has a very soft yet grippy feel to it. Appropriately named supersuede. I have noticed many of the newer (2014+) road bikes seem to come with this kind of tape.Installation was very simple with an adhesive strip about a cm wide running down the center of the tape. This makes it much easier to install vs having the entire width covered with adhesive in case you need to unwind in order to tighten or improve a couple of wraps as you go. For that matter, you could very easily undo and re-use the tape if you were making braking or handle bar adjustments.

This is good tape. I was skeptical at first because I usually use either LS or Arundell tape. This stuff has a great scuff feel to it for gripping. Not tacky......just scuffed up feel which I like. Goes on easy and the only thing this set does not come with is the two pieces of hood tape for easily hiding the hard to wrap exposed area on shifters/brakes. Other than that it is great tape. The bar plugs are not lose like most other brands as well. It has plugs that are plunger type with a few ribs to catch on the tape going in.

Very comfortable, easy to place and, if needed, re-place on the bars. Only reason I didn't go 5/5 was that as it stretches during mounting, the tape loses a bit of colour density and 'pinks up' a wee bit (simply because the tape is stretching). Very minor point though.It also includes some finishing tape too - which I liked (note to SRAM - finishing tape could be a bit thicker Guys!)Good product, recommended.

And it stays nicely grippy even in the rain. I found it easy to wrap, forgiving of mistakes and with plenty left over (if you needed to trim off a piece for the underside of the brake levers). I was a little worried about ordering white, since I seem to attract road grime and flats in equal measure. But it's easy to keep clean: just squirt a little dish soap in a bowl of warm water and use a soft tooth brush to scrub, then wipe with a clean towel. Sparkling white again in no time.

Worked as designed and look good. The "tape" pieces that overlay to dress things up won't last long, but I usually end up using electrical tape anyway. I've never found any product where the finish dressing tape pieces work as intended.

It was easy to install, being stretchy and re-mountable. The SuperSuede feels nice to the touch (good softness & thickness) and gave the bike a fresh new look. The tape immediately attracted positive attention on the streets. Highly recommended.Used own matching color electrical tape to bind the ends. Never changed the bar tape myself and didn’t realise how easy it was. I have to admit I am a bit OCD so was worried it would take ages to get it out on. But it was so easy and straightforward. All done on my first try. I must admit it looked fantastic when it fist goes on but after a few bike rides it looks a bit dirty (I chose red) but it is comfy and sticks on well.

Good tape. Its sticky backed which I wasnt expecting, but thats fine, it went on just fine and looks great

Unimpressed, the tape was lacking any real padding

I got the white for my white bike and it proved easy to fit after looking up the best method on you tube.

Great length and the strip of sticky tape at the back is really helpful. Super soft feel.
