So Happy with the purchase
I already have the Surface 3, and I gave that to my daughter. This Surface Pro with the i7 and 8GB of RAM is just brilliant. The difference in speed and processing power is amazing. I was going to order the i5, as my computers at home are all i5 but I decided to go with the i7 on this one. I'm sure the i5 would have been just as good. I was skeptical about getting a refurbished unit. I'm happy with the decision so far. No issues at all. There was a little issue with windows 10 email. It would close as soon as you opened it. I checked online and did the windows update as was recommended and that fixed the issue. I must say I'm very happy with the purchase. Especially since I have Prime and it arrived on Sunday!....lol

Lasted 6 months and hard drive failed, now a paper weight
It worked great for about 6 months, then one day I went to use it and got the blue screen of death. After countless tries to recover, the notice was hard drive failure. So after buying two failed refurbished surface pro 3's, I am moving on to an iPad.

An excellent value
I'd actually rather give this a 4.5, but it isn't an option. I'm sticking it in the system as a 4, because it certainly wasn't perfect but it is quite good. I actually got two of these at the same time. One of them appears brand new. Zero signs of wear on the casing, screen, or power adapter. The other one has some minor scuffs along the edge of the unit; nothing at all bad of that would hamper functionality. The scuffs are cosmetic only, and are minor to the point that you'd have to pick the unit up and inspect it to notice. They are not visible at normal operating distances (at least to me, your eyesight may vary). My only real complaint is that they didn't come with a pen. I'm not taking a star away because it was in the item description and I missed it. I think it would be better to pull the "except pen" part out of the general description about accessories, but that's just me. Making a note of it in the review so that anyone else who isn't detail-oriented with the bullet points of the description can see it. Haven't had a lot of time to work with these particular units yet, but I have other SP3's at work and they're all solid units. This one is a great price for a system that is not too terribly dissimilar to the most recent versions. Pay ~50% less, get ~90% of the performance. It's a solid trade-off and one I would recommend to people who want a good 2-in-1 system who either don't need the absolute top performance category or who don't have the budget for it.

Love, Love, LOVE this thing...
I love this thing. It is SO much faster than my old Core i5 unit its ridiculous. Being a movie and music lover, I was initially worried about the limited amount of storage on the unit so, with my budget, I bought the unit with 256 GB of storage. I had never really used microSDs before, but Walmart was clearing out their Samsung EVO 64 GB units for $20 a pop, so I bought some. I found I could store about 30 movies or my ENTIRE music collection (about 55 GB) on one. Since the unit has a nicely tucked away reader, I just slip whichever microSD I want at the moment into it and am a happy camper. My only complaint is the kickstand. It works well for its full out setting in landscape mode, but for any other position, I'm forever trying to figure out how to support it. It's not particularly heavy, so I will generally just hold it in place, but it would be nice to have a few more options in this respect without adding bulk to the unit by encasing it in a cover of some sort. In short, (I know... too late), if you can afford the price tag, I would recommend this to everyone. It is exceptional!

Buy one already.
So in love with this thing! I saved a ton of money cause it was refurbished which allowed me to purchase the one with i7. So far I've only used programs like photoshop and artrage to make some sketches. Having gone through the tablet, the many apps it has makes me very excited to start school again this coming fall semester. I will no longer have to carry a heavy laptop and multiple notebooks. Instead, my surface pro will have many functions while lightening my load as I traverse throughout my campus. I highly recommend anything with an i7 processor if you plan on doing more than just web browsing and taking notes. I'm very much excited to tap into sony vegas pro to edit some videos and even begin recording a podcast with friends just for fun in our down time. Edit: I'm going into my third week of the semester and I'm even more in love with this thing. One Note is perfect for taking notes for each of my classes and organizing the notes for each specific class. I also learned I can draw and write on PDF files. If you're into productivity, I highly recommend a Surface Pro. The i7 and 8GB ram isn't necessary for school work or even simple office work, but for projects that require the processing speed, this model is beautiful. Anyways, if you're reading this and don't own a surface pro, you should reevaluate your laptop/tablet situation.

If you can use it sitting at a desk plugged in all the time, this is a great product
Battery doesn't charge or sometimes it's not detected. I can troubleshoot it and get it to work, but I don't have a an hour to do that every few weeks. I need to be able to walk around while using it so plugged in all the time not an option. Otherwise, the tablet has very little wear and tear (some scratches on the back/lid). It works great. Connectivity quickly. Speed is great. Screen size is great. Image is crisp and clear. If you can use it sitting at a desk plugged in all the time, this is a great product.

Beware before You Buy ...
For first two-three months it performed well as I did not introduce this device to my regular computation stuffs. Those who expects to work it as a regular laptop with similar hardware specification, I bet this will be a wrong expectation. I contacted Microsoft many times and also had exchanged my device twice but I have the same issues of degrading performance while running multiple tasks in background. Also, the fan noise is too loud and annoying. Customer service from Microsoft has only one answer and that is; this device is a tablet and I cannot expect more from it? According to them, fan issue, and heating issues are common for Surface Pro 3 i7 devices. I won't buy surface devices again. I expect to get what I paid for but ...

The perfect computer for an on the go artist
I absolutely love my Surface Pro 3. I am a professional artist with a limited budget and this machine was a hefty investment for me. I am happy to say that it was worth every penny. This tablet has plenty of processing power to run Photoshop and other graphics intensive programs smoothly and easily. The pen interface is intuitive and comfortable. I can even rest my hand on the screen while I draw! With just a few tweaks to out of the box settings this tablet has taking over from my Wacom Cintiq tablet as my preferred drawing surface. I purchased a keyboard stand and frankly NEVER use the tablet without it. That is the only major complaint, that the keyboard stand should be included. I was nervous about purchasing a refurbished tablet, but my Surface Pro 3 exceeded my expectations for about a week. Then a tiny nick in the screen bloomed into a hairline crack across the screen. No drop, nothing...the machine was just sitting on my desk and all of a sudden a crack appeared. Amazon has a really excellent return policy and I fully intend to replace this tablet with another Surface Pro 3 as soon I get my refund for this one. Just, maybe a new one this time instead of a refurb.
