It also covers the Soviet Navy aircraft carrier development and the associated airplanes. Lots of photos to accompany the text. Covers airplanes and weapons (primarily air - to - surface missiles). I got the impression that the author is nostalgic for the old Glory days of the USSR and its military power: there are quite a few references to the Main Enemy or the Potential Adversaries.
Review: Excellent overview for one volume - This is a great one-stop book for a good overview of Soviet Naval aviation. After the review by F. Stop Fitzgerald, I have nothing to add of any substance about the subject itself. This book is typical of Mr.Gordon. After reading it, you may want to buy more of his work.

Great book on the subject of Soviet Naval Aviation (SNA) airplanes and deployment units. It also covers the Soviet Navy aircraft carrier development and the associated airplanes. Lots of photos to accompany the text. Covers airplanes and weapons (primarily air - to - surface missiles).
