This unique pen has a small green LED tucked into its tip right next to a high quality medium ball point. Just give the top of the pen a twist, and you can see what you are entering in the log on those long dark nights without having to light up the whole

Nice light, could be a little more user friendly
I bought this pen so as not to disturb the other half while I'm awake in bed at 2 am. (Are you one of those people too?). I really like the green glow as it lights up my notepad nicely and isn't too bright. If I could suggest one thing about it, it would be to make it more nighttime friendly. I place it in a bed pocket that I made (one of those bed organizer things that looks like a remote holder) and I have to be sure the pen cap doesn't fall down inside, where I have to move around a lot to find it. (The cap has a clip on it that I use to attach it to my notepad and I have to remove the cap every time I want to write). If the clip were on the other end of the barrel, toward the top, and the pen retracted using a clickable tip, (right now you have to turn the barrel near the tip to get the ink exposed) this pen would be the best for people like me.

Great idea, Poor cartridge
This pen didn't write when I got it. I couldn't write more than a couple of words at a time without it skipping. I liked that it wasn't as bright as other pens because I use it to write notes at night when my husband is sleeping and it doesn't wake him. I did have to go out shopping for a new very thin cartridge that I had to cut down in size to fit. I would have sent it back if it wasn't less expensive to just fix it myself, like some of the rest of did. I give it 4 stars now that I fixed it at my expense of time and additional money.

Nice glow for a pen.
I do like this pen. It has 2 button cell batteries that produce a nice green glow. Things that could improve this pen would be to allow the clear cap to stick better to the butt end of the pen when writing. I find that the cap slips off when I am writing and it's difficult to find when dropped because it's clear. (So, now I just remove the cap when I'm using and place it somewhere I can find it.) Also, this pen has regular black ink, I would prefer the space pen type ink that can write at any angle. A note to future pen owners, you can access the ink and batteries from the same place at the butt end of the pen. Opening the light end of the pen can be tricky because of the springs in the barrell which turn the light on and off. The replacement ink cartridge is just the standard kind in a lot of freebie type pens, I do not believe a space type or parker type refill would fit, due to the way the pen is lighted in the inside. Overall though, I like having this lighted pen and keep it by my bedside table.

Pen light
I found this pen light to be very useful when working in a dark room and having to take notes. The soft green light provided ample light to write and read without being a distraction to others. The light is turned on/off by rotating a well-designed rubberized switch which also acts as the finger grip for writing. Two watch type batteries provide power and are easily accessible to replace. Ergonomically, the pen feels a bit over-sized and the ballpoint writes adequately - could be better. The only real negative I found was the clear plastic cap which is used to cover the ball point and act as a pocket holder. This cap is designed to fit on the opposite end when the pen is in use, however the cap doesn't fit snugly and can be easily lost. Other than that I thought the price of the pen was very reasonable (cheap~$4); however, s/h was three times that of the pen!

will have you making some modifications
If it weren't for the skipping ink cartridge, it would be a pleasure to use. In the dark it is great except for that. I like the soft green light. Replace the cartridge and you'll be fine, but observe how you take it apart because it can be tricky to reassemble. Too bad it isn't retractable; it features a clear cap over the writing end that looks goofy and you will eventually lose. I expected a better out of the box experience!

Great Pen - Not so good ink
I purchased this pen to keep by my bedside for writing down those great ideas we all have in the middle of the night. I can see what I'm writing and the light is dim enough that it won't wake my wife. You'll want to replace the ink cartridge soon (hence 4 stars) because it skips and doesn't write well. The replacement ink cartridge is a standard kind and easy to find in most any office supply store. A previous reviewer had a great suggestion when replacing the ink cartridge. You can access the ink and batteries from the same place at the back end of the pen. Opening the light end of the pen can be tricky because of the springs in the barrel which turn the light on and off.

Slow starter but works well after 2 weeks use
I originally gave this pen a negative review because of the cheap plastic and the fact that it never would write on the first try. I had to scribble with it to get the ink flowing every time. After a few weeks of use though, the ink flows well, and it rarely fails to write. My only negative comment on it now is that in the conditions where you need a lighted pen, it's too easy to lose a small, transparent pen cap. I've lost and recovered the cap several times and now I fear it's lost for good. Not a fatal flaw, but an annoying feature. I love that the pen and light are on separate controls -- no clicking four times to get to the combination of light and pen. The pen works like any other -- click to extend or retract the point. The light turns on via a collar near the tip of the pen. I've now been using mine for a couple of months for logging snake rescues. Logged more than 400 snake rescues, dropped and stepped on the pen, and both ink and batteries are still going strong. No dimming at all, with one caveat -- occasionally (particularly after accidentally dropping it), I've had to open it and reseat the batteries.

Slightly Inconvenient
This lighted (green) pen meets my expectations with one disappointment: From online illustrations, it would appear that one just pushes the button at end of pen to have the green night light come on. Unfortunately in reality, user must first remove the cap to the pen, then turn the whole pen to switch on the light. This is not easily done with one free hand. Though this is not enough to have me return the item, I am disappointed for this inconvenience that will undoubtedly slow my immediate use of the pen in the dark, under stressful conditions.[Have since, decided to return this pen...In addition to earlier comments, please note that the "pen" for this lighted pen is of poor quality with intermittent successful use. Very frustrating.]

Disappointing Quality and Overpriced.
It's a cheap plastic pen (the one delivered to me was white) with a light at the tip. It does what it's supposed to but is very overpriced; it doesn't even come with a spare refill! The postage charge is also over the top...2nd class in a plastic wrapper does not warrant over two pounds.Edit:Item was faulty but customer service from supplier was beyond excellent: problem sorted without drama and within hours. Thank you.

Ok, so it's not as solid as an expensive pen, but neither is it flimsy. Works beautifully and I've sourced refills from a UK supplier so I'm happy. Have recommended the item to others already.

This is absolutely brilliant, well designed
Looked for this for absolutely ages - persistence in amending the search criteria eventually found it - I wanted a pen with an inbuilt light to be able to write notes if I woke at night without having to put a proper light on. This is absolutely brilliant, well designed, well made and does what it says it does!
