The foam eartips that came with my ER2s and ER4s were rough in my ears, not very comfortable, and kind of finnicky to get a good seal. Oddly, when I reordered Etymotic foam eartips, the new ones were softer but had no memory-foam function at all, so they wouldn't stay compressed to insert. I had to try to stuff them into my ears, and when they did finally seat, they also weren't very comfortable, nor very secure. On top of that, they did a poor job of blocking ambient noise, which is one of the main things I wanted Etys for in the first place. I tried everything to get a genuine Etymotic eartip to work. The stock silicone ones wouldn't seal unless I crammed them in very deep, until I felt some discomfort deep in the ear canal. That doesn't seem workable. I tried the bigger silicone version, and that sealed somewhat better, but still had iffy ambient noise blocking at the gym, and it didn't feel very secure. The original foams were a step in the right direction, but they were rough in my ears, and when they started to get dirty and I wanted replacements, those were not really workable. These Comply ear tips immediately worked better than anything Etymotic had to offer. I don't think they change the sound of the IEMs. They just fit more comfortably and more securely, are easier to insert, and reliably block ambient noise. (SIDE NOTE: Less expensive Etymotic ER2SEs not only sound better to me than their flagship ER4SRs, they have much better specs on paper. Check before you buy!) I don't know about their falling apart as some have reported. I heard those reports about the Ety eartips too, but never had that experience. They're basically foam earplugs with tunnels through them. They fit my IEMs fine--a little snug going on, which is what you want so they come out with the monitors when you extract them. I also try to be careful when pulling them out, as I'd be afraid of them getting stuck in my ear if I just yanked. I don't think this style of eartip is meant to last a long time. And cleaning them with any kind of solvent seems like asking for trouble, in terms of their falling to pieces. It seems to me that, like foam earplugs, I will have to replace them quite often--every week or two if I wear them much. That can get pretty expensive, I admit, but at any rate they work well.

I know I know, there are skeptics out there, but then there are skeptics for just about everything these days. But let me assure you; if you listen to music a lot like me and prefer IEM to completely zone you out then these Comply ear tips won't disappoint. What do I mean? Well, I recently picked up a new IEM called Etymotic ER4XR aka 'deep insertion IEM'. For those that are into high resolution digital music, that name may sound familiar. For those that aren't, let's just say it is a flagship in-ear monitor hence IEM from a hearing research company that started back in early 1980's. Okay, I won't bore you with history so let's get into the review. These ear tips, the way to properly use it, you will first squish them into a nice tight bunch using your thumb and your index finger with rolling motion until it's very narrow (2 to1?). For those that use foam ear plugs probably will be able to visualize what I am describing. Then you insert them into your ear canal in parallel but DO NOT shove it down all the way forcefully. It's important to leave some room when you start to feel resistance. Then hold it for about 20-45 seconds until it had the chance to expand into the shape of your ear canal completely sealing the passage then let go. That's it! It will provide hours of musical enjoyment by transporting you to where ever the artist wants to take you. You will thank me later and the comfort is absolutely magnificent; essentially you will hardly noticer that it's even there. Kind of redundant to say that it essentially blocks out all ambient noise just like a good neon colored 3M ear plugs so be careful when using it when you are about in public with them inserted. Any kind of music genre, using a good source and IEM, you will be blown away as to the clarity, detail, and the richness that these Comply ear tips will unlock. Sort of like a drip coffee maker versus a percolator coffee maker, mmmmm.

I had originally bought a pair for my Etymotic ER3SEs way back when (Before the cable broke), and the set I got must've been very badly damaged from the start. Cut to now, I still haven't bought a replacement Etymotic cable, and instead got a second opinion in the narrow nozzle IEM space, the Shure SE215. These are a shallower fit, yet still have that excellent narrow nozzle that allows the IEMs to vanish in my ears. With a pair of large P-Series, they actually have really good comfort and isolation. Beyond that, the durability was definitely better this time. Still going to bin them instead of washing them (Even as the site describes, since that's a fool's errand), but my opinion has changed.

These things are terrible. I ordered them when a previous set that came with the device wore down. They aren't comfortable, they slip off the buds and stay in your ear or fall off constantly. Incredibly disappointed with the quality after reading good reviews. Would not recommend buying these.

Not only was I not paid to write this, I spend money on these all the time. I am a full-time professional musician who plays choreographed and high energy shows. 3 sets a night, 225 nights a year. During outdoor shows in Texas in the summer enough to fill a small pool. I have been through multiple sets of custom IEMs but having an inner ear an jaw issue means the seal is constantly broken and said sweat drowns and thusly fries them. I’m relegated to universals and I have been on the sh846 train until my next upgrade (JH Layla universal 🙌) and these tips give me the most consistently preferable performance. Pros: Killer isolation So comfortable they mentally disappear GRIP The sound hole will not close with movement Tonal neutrality Cons: Sweat WILL break them down Your mileage will unquestionably vary The Veruca Salt in me that wants everything and wants it now wants to hold back a fifth star for longevity, however if I understand them as another disposable component of my career such as guitar strings or picks that by my own actions I over stress, the ongoing financial commitment is a much easier pill to swallow. The level of performance when fresh is unrivaled and worth it. Every triple flange or dual flange silicone or other non-permeable material I have tried that enter my ear canal far enough to stay put inevitably collapse with any motion of my jaw. While they will last forever, it’s like winning free rusty guitar strings for life. Thanks, but no, thanks. While these tips loose their resiliency and seemingly density after about a week of shows, I can probably squeeze another week or two out before they are completely shot/falling off the tube. If you jog 5 miles a day in a warm climate or something physically similar I recommend the squaretrade protection plan. Only IF you will honestly follow through and take advantage of it. If you will, you more than likely unpack and use the dresser in your hotel room too. I’m not mocking you, I’m coveting your organizational skills. I buy a bunch at a time and keep the little plastic pods these come in stashed away in random spots in my gear for when I need them. You win this round squaretrade. Hears to Ears, -joe

This product is very good, and goes nicely with the Comply headphones, but even though they are expensive as it is, the thing gets even more expensive when, if you are not insanely careful, they'll last very little. The plastic cylinder inside and the foam itself get separated very easily, so while you may be able to clean the foam and re use the things for months, if you are not very careful, you might separate the two parts the same day you replaced your previous tip. I tried using super glue to fix the two patrts back together, didn't work, might work with another type of adhesive, although I'm pretty sure any kind of glue will mess with the foam. Confort's great, medium size fits perfectly. As a drummer, I really like using these for both studio and live applications, as they will block the outside sound well enough not to be harmful, while still letting you hear it.

I recently purchase Earmore earbuds and loved them. My only issue was that the included foam tips didn't fit well enough to block out noise as well as I would have liked. These foam tips, if you insert them properly, do a significantly better job of blocking out noises at the range. It does take some experimentation, and a little time, to get them just right. Once positioned correctly, they work well and stay put.

Super great if you have narrow deep ear holes. Kind of a pain in the ass to get them on the ear buds but i’d rather that than have them slip off in the ear canal(had that happen before. Would not recommend!).

Excelente sellado y aislamiento si es lo que buscas. Mejora en efectividad y comodidad (si eres sensible al efecto de vacío) a prácticamente la totalidad de cancelaciones activas de sonido. Apta obviamente para IEMs que casen bien con almohadillas de espuma, si no vas a estar decepcionado con el sonido que dan, lo mismo que en contraste son la guinda del pastel si tu pairing así lo requiere. Lo digo para primerizos, esta no es una almohadilla que introduzca sutiles diferencias a nivel sonoro como ocurre con la mayoría de silicona simples (que no híbridas). Según tu caso, para bien o para mal, cambian notoriamente el carácter de tus IEMs. También, aunque sea obvio, es importante tener en cuenta que la inserción es profunda, por aquello de cómo de a gusto te sientas respecto de ello. El material es cómodo, yo personalmente las puedo llevar durante horas olvidándome hasta peligrosamente de que las llevo puestas incluso, pero lo hago notar para las personas que sean reacias a este tipo de ajuste. Ojalá las hicieran también con protección para las boquillas, entonces serían perfectas para todo uso. Aun así les doy las 5 estrellas porque son de calidad y para lo que ofrecen considero que están a un precio justo.

Very low quality plastic breaks all the time. Plastic is not properly threaded. Foam dissolves after a few weeks of use. I did not enjoy picking foam bits out of my ear. They block out sound well, while they are not dissolved though.

After getting my Shure Aonic 4s I have been trying to find a foam ear tip that seals and is as comfortable as the original 3 flange silicone ones. These tips are super comfortable I can wear them for hours with no strain, the box of different sizes lets you find the perfect fit. They seal really well in the ear and the sound quality is not hampered at all. The extra length on these compared to other models definitely helps getting the proper fit. I would suggest these to anyone looking for replacement foam tip.

Blocks outside noises really well. I no longer have to push my music volume to dangerous levels just to drown out the train noise.
