A: Hi! All of the different kits we have gotten have included smaller, all-plastic hooks. This is a much larger hook with a metal end so it is much more durable.

A: The length of the hook is about 5 1/2 inches.

**Q: What does the base do? It it meant to hold an add on or something?**
A: The base is to remove the bottom parts of your loom
