Dependable UPS for Workstations and Small Network Equipment
Iโve had a very good experience with the CyberPower SL700U. This is a practical UPS for protecting smaller electronics where you want both surge protection and enough battery runtime to handle a brief outage or perform an orderly shutdown. The 700VA/370W capacity makes it well suited for equipment such as desktop workstations, monitors, network switches, routers, modems, VoIP equipment, and other relatively low-power devices. For IT deployments, I particularly like having a UPS on network equipment because even a very short power interruption can otherwise reboot switches or Internet equipment and create several minutes of unnecessary downtime. The unit has been straightforward to install and operate. The multiple outlets provide useful flexibility for separating equipment that requires battery backup from devices that primarily need surge protection. The compact form factor is also convenient compared with some of the much larger UPS units, especially when installing it around a workstation or in an area with limited space. During a power interruption, the objective with a UPS in this class isn't to continue operating indefinitely. It provides a buffer that keeps equipment online through short interruptions or gives you enough time to shut equipment down properly during a longer outage. For that purpose, this unit does its job well. One recommendation is to calculate the actual wattage of the equipment you intend to connect before purchasing. The 370W rating is more important than simply looking at the 700VA number, particularly if you're considering using it with a higher-powered desktop computer. Overall, this has been a reliable and cost-effective solution for adding battery backup and surge protection to smaller IT installations.

Reliable. Affordable. Quality. Peace of mind.
Perfect for my custom-built SFF PC setup. This 700VA slim version sits on my desk, so no more tangled cords near the floor, and is nearly completely hidden by my small case. Still haven't used all the outlets. Price is excellent. This brand was recommended by the shop that built my PC, they use several versions of it. Just an hour after it was all connected we had a power flicker and I just heard a soft click but there was no interruption. Highly recommend!!

Perfect size for my data center box
This slim UPS is perfect for my network data center box. It fits perfectly into it so I can have a UPS backup for my fiber modem. Whenever the power went out, it seems something would happen so my router wouldn't reconnect properly to the modem. Though I have a backup generator that restores power 15 seconds after power loss, something happens to mess up the connection between my modem and router. Since my router has a UPS on it, it never loses power during that 15 seconds it takes for the generator to come online. Now, with this UPS connected to my modem in my network box, it won't lose power again so this should solve my random intermittent reconnection issue. This UPS is perfect as most other units are much too large to fit inside the network box. Thanks Cyberpower for having a slimline UPS that meets my needs perfectly! (BTW I could've used a smaller UPS instead of a 700VA which is overkill since it only has to stay online until my generator kicks in but nothing smaller in capacity would physically fit inside my box.)

CyberPower SL700U: The Little UPS That Catches Power Blips So Your Network Doesnโt Blink
The CyberPower SL700U is the kind of UPS you keep around not because itโs a powerhouse, but because itโs a polite, dependable little buffer that smooths out lifeโs electrical hiccups. Itโs slim, unobtrusive, and perfect for the gear that really just needs clean, uninterrupted power long enough to avoid a rebootโmodems, routers, ONTs, or those tiny-but-critical devices that absolutely should not experience a brownout. As a surge protector plus brief-runtime UPS, it does its job without fanfare or fuss, and thatโs exactly what you want in a unit this size. In day-to-day use, the SL700U behaves like a compact shock absorber. Voltage drops? It catches them. Blips and flickers? It shrugs and gives you the extra seconds you need. Full outages? Wellโฆ itโll keep your small gear running for 10โ15 minutes, maybe a bit more if the load is tinyโbut this is a UPS you choose for coverage, not marathon endurance. Itโs not something youโd use for a full networking rack or anything mission-critical. But for protecting your modem during ISP maintenance, or keeping your router alive while your bigger UPS is rebooting, updating, or being swapped? Itโs perfect. Its real value shows up when paired with larger systems. If youโve got a bigger UPS or portable power station as your primary backbone, this little CyberPower becomes the perfect โinline bufferโโabsorbing those moments where the big device switches modes, resets a circuit, or needs a firmware update. Instead of a hard network drop, everything downstream keeps humming along as if nothing happened. For anyone who works with layered power systems or wants belt-and-suspenders protection for the gear that holds everything together, the SL700U fits that niche beautifully. Itโs not designed to be an all-purpose safety net, but within its intended role itโs wonderfully reliable. Treat it as the โhiccup protectorโ for sensitive electronics, especially in modest or home office setups, and it will earn its spot. Just donโt ask it to run a switch stack or an office during a blackoutโthis is the helpful sidekick, not the hero. Pros โข Slim, compact, and easy to place behind desks or network shelves โข Ideal for modems, routers, ONTs, and other low-draw devices โข Smoothly handles flickers and short drops without reboots โข Perfect as a buffer behind larger UPS or power systems โข UL certified and generally very reliable for its class Cons โข Very limited runtimeโ10โ15 minutes max under typical loads โข Not suitable for full racks or high-draw equipment โข Standby design means itโs not as smooth as line-interactive models โข Battery longevity is decent, but not exceptional

Works as advertised
Purchased this to use behind my entertainment center for my TV, streaming and audio gear. Less interested in being able to use any of it when the power goes out, just wanting the additional protection that the battery backup provides so that power isn't lost on these devices if it flicks on and off throughout the house. Less likely to damage my equipment and less likely to have to reset things afterwards. The slim profile with the plugs on the top was ideal for my setup. Happy enough with it that I just ordered a 2nd one this evening to use in another room on a different TV.

Ease of use and efficient
This product was really easy out of the box. I needed to keep an uninterrupted power supply on my WiFi network. Based on my power usage (which is small) this UPS is more than adequate to keep the network running for approximately 30 minutes. The unit fits neatly in my command center and is plug and play.

Fits in tight locations
I like how narrow this UPS is. Was able to squeeze it in between a narrow space.

Screw slots for hanging. USB lines. Multi direction cord dressing.
This UPS has done me well. Being a lower power unit it can be hung on the wall with its rear screw slots. Bought a second piece just for the TV and peripherals. For the price I added one to my security system. I generally need them for the occasional brownouts and when the generator kicks on. This is not really meant for long durations, just mainly protection in my case. These have served me for many years now.

Compact Power
I asked the Amazon community a while ago about if anyone knew how big the internal circuit board was for the Cyberpower SL700U battery backup? No one could give me an answer and since this unit seemed to be the smallest, most compact design for a larger 700 watt backup supply on the market, I decided it would do for my purposes. I am writing this review not as an end use of the actual device, but to re-purpose the battery backupโs structure, it still functions as intended, just in a different package and I believe that customers may like to see how these units work as well as how they can be modified (yes, you will void the warranty) I make computer hard drive backups and restorations every 2 months, for myself and others I help with their operating systems, so I use an external data backup device: Startech SM2DUPE11. Previously I used an earlier model that could not do NVMe style drives but was still efficient and quick. When backing up data of any type, it is best to have a power supply that wonโt fail on you else you may lose your destination drive or corrupt the source data if you have a blackout. The UPS is the answer. The duplicator needs a home, so a good solid case to carry and store it in makes sense. Last, the UPS, which I integrated into the case, adding in a couple of features and using components to replace the circuit board mounted power switch and power LED indicator light. I decided to add in a power receptacle in case I needed to plug something in while doing the backup off site. Designing the layout on an acrylic plastic board and then drilling, cutting and filing out slots and holes, modifying the two heat sinks on the Cyberpower SL700Uโs circuit board and adding in a separate 12 volt DC power supply to power two small 40 mm fans to cool those two heat sinks I shortened, all of this needed careful planning on how to arrange everything. The Startech duplicatorโs power supply adapter also needed a parking stall in the layout. So after removing it from itโs case, and trying a few positions with two slimmer 6 volt batteries to power the UPS during a power outage, I had my plan. The original Cyberpower battery was 2 inches thick, and obviously I could not use this effectively if trying to place it flat inside of the carry case I used, the Nanuk 910 case. I found a flatter, 1.3โ thick, 6 volt battery to use, but I would need two of them instead of one. You can replace a 12 volt battery with two 6 volt ones if you connect them in series. This gave me the advantage of increasing the amp hour rating from the Cyberpowerโs 5 amp hour 12 volt battery to 7 amp hours for the replacements. My project took a while to accumulate all the needed components, all ordered through Amazon, and once I had replaced the short battery cables on the circuit board with lengthened ones, and soldered on wires to connect the switch and LED light, I was ready to assemble. The photos show the SL700U disassembled then itโs circuit board being put together and mounted to the underside of the acrylic plastic board. I consulted with the Startech technical support to confirm that their duplicator being placed so close to the UPS power supply would not cause any issues in its operation and they confirmed that there should be no problem. The project is done and my SL700U powers my duplicator station, protecting this investment from power failures as well as surges during normal operation. I am pleased that I chose this particular device, the Cyberpower SL700U, as it was a great compact design that I could incorporate into my plan and provide power for the nominal 60 watt power usage of the duplicator. This should prove me with many years of service. Hope this helps you decide if the SL700U is for you.

Works with NUT/Home Assistant and yes, you can mute it
This little UPS (I have the slim one) is perfect for small appliances like a router, switch or even a mini PC. I have a couple of NAS units plugged in, a network switch and a mini PC that thankfully only pulls 25 watts. It's been through a few power outages with no issue so far. I have the UPS connected to my server with a USB cable and monitored via Home Assistant and NUT (Network UPS Tools) . Works perfectly out of the box and provides all of the metrics you can dream of, including the health of the battery. And whenever there's a power outage and the unit starts beeping, I only need to double press the power button to mute it instantly. It's in the manual, but hey, who really has time to read it? ;) Overall, great and affordable little UPS that offers more value that the APC unit I had before. Highly recommended.

Great unit for a few minutes of power during an outage/brown out.
Bought two of these for my network/wifi setup and for my desktop. I didnโt need anything to offer backup power for hours, only a few minutes is ideal for my setup. Helps with brown outs or fast on/off power shortages. Gives me enough time to shutdown the very thing safely. The unit will beep every few seconds while on backup power

Good product no mute mode
I am satisfied with the product. It meets my needs. I removed a star because there is no way to put it on mute mode. When a breakdown occurs, there is a beep every thirty seconds. Competint products all have this mode so it is an aspect to be updated. It is possible to remove the speaker on the other hand this removes the low or out of use battery warning.
