Box Contains Game cartridge Box Contains Game Disc Review: Quite simply the greatest example of a fantasy rpg ever made - I played BG1 when it first came out and loved it but years later and of course upon hearing that a new game was coming BG3, I got the old curiosity for that world back, not just the game but all the old forgotten realms books set in this rich world. I received the game in good time and good condition and then started playing it, at first in candle keep I was a little put off, trying to figure out the PS4 controls and I wasn't sure about the graphics, then I got used to both and started to appreciate the graphics, for example the fact that many of the inns you go to have different décor and I started comparing it in my mind to more recent fantasy games like World of Warcraft...……….all I can tell you is in my head and maybe with a mixture of sentimentality and bias to the setting that I loved as a child, this is a far better game, with more depth. For example you are controlling a party, not just one character and they all interact with each other, sometimes negatively, each character has a skill set you can steer as well as their gear and a huge collection of items. The stories are good and fun to be a part of , the voice gifs of your characters can be highly amusing and the music and sound generally is excellent. Put simply a lot of people exploited a rich setting to build one of the most ambitious games ever made, they poured their love in to it. Whereas these days games seem to be made in a generic, purely commercial way, using already established design engines etc...…….just wonderful Review: As good as it gets - These are my 2 favourite games of all time, it has been a long time since I have ventured back into the world of Baldurs Gate I was excited but also a bit worried as to how good the port would on a console. I really neednt have worried the controls overall are more user friendly then I would ever have thought absolutely top marks. As to the games themselves they are as good now as they were in the 90's, these games BG2 in particular are better than 99% of PS4 or XBox 1 games, theres no hand holding they are brutally difficult if played as intended, though you do have the option to scale the difficulty down substantially.
