Review: If you are a sound sleeper or hearing impaired, this is the alarm for you!!!! - I am a very very very sound sleeper, this is the best alarm clock I've ever had. After about a year of daily use (including about an hour of snoozing, 5 days a week) the vibrating disc you stick under your mattress wore out!!!! I was very upset, but I figured maybe wore out so quickly due to my extreme snoozing. I found a replacement part on desertcart and now I'm back in business! I think I've had the replacement vibrating disc for over a year, so maybe the first one I had was defective. The replacement part was a little on the expensive side (although cheaper than a whole new clock), so just keep in mind there could be future costs associated with this clock if you plan to keep it long term. In addition to the vibrating disc, the alarm also has an outlet in the back, where you can plug a lamp into the alarm itself. Then you can set the lamp to flash in your face when your alarm goes off. Or you can have the lamp flash in your face while the vibrating disc shakes your bed. Or just have the vibrating disc shake your bed. OR you can add a super annoying, super high pitched, high frequency sound to any of the previously mentioned alarm options. The options are endless! (Ok, there's 6.) When you have your lamp plugged into the clock, you use the big yellow button to turn the lamp on and off. I really like this feature, it makes turning the light off at bedtime very easy! Although probably not recommended, I suppose in theory you could plug anything into the back of the alarm clock, it is just a standard outlet. I have never tried it, but I fantasize about plugging a coffee maker or a George Foreman full of bacon. I'm not sure it would work since it flashes the lamp on and off, so the grill would probably never get hot enough to cook the bacon. Seriously, automatic coffee and bacon is the only thing that could make this alarm better! Another nice feature, there is a "test" button on the bottom of the clock so once you set your alarm you can test it to make sure you really set it. Plus when you first set it up its nice to know the vibrating disc works and what to expect. Just make sure the alarm is set/on before you go to test it, or the test feature won't work. Oh also the grey rectangle panel (thin grey boarder) around the time immediately fell off my clock. Not a deal breaker for me though!

**Q: Did anyone receive the "ss12vw super shaker bed vibrating unit" as advertised?  i got ripped off.**
A: The whole thing is a rip-off the alarm doesn't work and that's what main reason I bought it for

**Q: when the alarm goes on, can the clock just turn the light on, but not flash ?**
A: No.  The light works if you plug the lamp into your alarm clock, but it is only a flash setting.  The idea is that the lamp flashes in time with the bed shaker's pulsations.  You can choose to turn the lamp on whenever you want (like as a reading lamp) by clicking the large yellow button. The light will not just turn on and stay on though, if the lamp is being utilized as part of the alarm clock cycle.As the other commenter mentioned, you do go through more bulbs when you use the light flashing feature but it is totally worth it. I would recommend plugging a lamp you don't care about into the alarm clock if you are worried about the constant on/off/on/off wear and tear that the alarm may have on the lamp itself.

**Q: How do shut off audible alarm and leave the shaker on?**
A: There is a choice to use either alarm or the shaker. I prefer using the shaker only because the alarm is pretty loud and I live in an apartment.

**Q: Would the receiver still vibrate even if outlet is turned off or alarm is off??**
A: If the alarm is turned off,
You essentially have a clock.
Until you turn on the alarm, with a lamp plugged into the unit, you will get a blinking lamp, vibration steady or pulsing, and an alarm..this thing will wake you up.

I am a very very very sound sleeper, this is the best alarm clock I've ever had. After about a year of daily use (including about an hour of snoozing, 5 days a week) the vibrating disc you stick under your mattress wore out!!!! I was very upset, but I figured maybe wore out so quickly due to my extreme snoozing. I found a replacement part on Amazon and now I'm back in business! The product is great! I set it up right away. I had one before but electricity went off then on and shorted the alarm. I am hearing impaired so I needed the same type of alarm clock system. Thankyou. I won't oversleep now. It is easy to use and bright so I can see the time
