I use it to scan VIN numbers at work, as well as regular part bar codes. Very easy to program, the manual included is easy to read and follow. If you want to change any functionality of the scanner, they give you quite a few options that you can enable/disable, and its very easy to do so, you simply find what you want to change in the manual scan a bar code to enter set up, scan the bar code that will enable/disable the function then scan the exit setup bar code. VERY EASY. I'm pretty sure its actually listed somewhere on the product page, but I can confirm that it does not read bar codes on a screen (so far I've tried on an LED monitor and my Iphone) Not a big deal for me as I use it for tangible bar codes. Does not require any drivers or set up, just plug in the dongle and scan.
