It has recessed valves (the valve spring cap is down somewhat below the top of the cam shaft cover.) It first tried one of the Lisle tools that you place on top of the valve and hit with a hammer, and some magnet is supposed to grab the stem clips, or whatever they call the two-piece stem retainer thingies. However that tool was too big to fit inside the cam body. This looks just like the factory valve remover that's pictured in my Honda service manual.
