The artist did a magnificent job setting forth each detail and symbol. You can study each card over and over and still find something new and delightful the next time you look.The companion book is easy to read and understand and written with heart-felt sincerity. I found that just by reading it, I had a better understanding of my own path and it gave me much to think about. I have the Rider Waite deck as well, and while its images and archetypes are more pronounced and embedded in the collective mind of tarot enthusiasts than these, I find the Mystic Faerie Tarot to be far more intuitive for seeking personal insight. Certainly, these cards hold no power on their own. They cannot be really be "charged" or "cleansed" with full moonlight, infused with one's own magical energy, or used to divine secret knowledge or future events. Rather, someone seeking true magic within him or herself will discover a wealth of personal knowledge based simply on reactions and introspection inspired by the imagery and descriptions of the cards selected during a reading. In the sense that they bring self awareness, they can help guide the thoughts inside you that you were out of touch with before. That is immensely valuable in itself. For this reason, I recommend this deck above Rider Waite and many others.
