Then I bought a dryer power cord that fits my that socket at Home Depot or Lowes. Then I also bought a heavy duty standard 3-prong female socket and wired it to the other end of that power cord. Plug the brewer into the modified power cord, unplug the dryer and plug in the newly constructed 'adapter chord'. Voila. I run the brew system in the vicinity of my laundry room in 220V mode. **Q: Is this the newer version with the controller up high on the kettle?** A: The one that I purchased did have the controller up high. After reading a ton of articles I decided on the Anvil 10.5 as a good bridge from the extract world to all grain. I'm not disappointed. This thing makes great wort which in turn allows the yeast to make great beer. I'm working hard on my efficiency numbers - they are getting better. Oh, and one of the big deciding factors was the ability to use 110V or 220V with the flip of a switch.
