I did it by myself and it took about 45 minutes.But I was massively surprised when I was finished at just how low to the ground this bed is. The frame sits maybe 10" off the ground. With my mattress I think it's 19" total off the ground. You cannot get anything under this bed. The space between the side rails and the floor is less than 2".I am looking at the bottom of my nightstand top when I lay down.If I had really understood how short this bed is, I probably would have bought something else. When you sit on it, it's not even chair height. I will probably try and find some sort of riser that will fit this...although the feet are pretty wide, which makes it difficult.Its a sturdy bed. But beware - if you have under the bed boxes or used the under bed area for storage, this is not the bed for you. If you have bad knees and don't like squat standing to get outta bed, this is not the bed for you.
