## Overview

The Bayliss Mk 7 Window Autovent is an innovative automatic opener designed for greenhouse roof windows measuring 76cm x 76cm and weighing up to 26lbs. Utilizing a unique wax mechanism, it opens and closes based on temperature changes, ensuring optimal ventilation for your plants while being compatible with both aluminum and wooden structures.

## Description

This autovents automatically opens and closes hinged vents. The autovent uses energy from the sun and surrounding air, the hotter the temperature the wider the vent will open. The Bayliss MK7 Autovent is supplied in a satin anodised finish, with all the fixings and instructions. Designed for timber or aluminium framed vents measuring up to 60cm x 60cm (2ft x 2ft), has a lift load of up to 6kg and opens to a maximum of 30cm (8"). Can be set to start opening from 12°C (55F) The autovents strong metal tube contains a mineral wax which expands with heat. This pushes a piston which opens the vent via a balanced linkage. As the temperature drops, the wax shrinks and a strong stainless steel spring closes the vent and resets the piston. All Bayliss products are guaranteed for two years against faulty manufacture. They are designed and tested to last for many years and are fully serviceable.

    Structurally Inadequate

I have two vents actuated by these on my 12 year old 26 ft Growing Spaces Geodome Greenhouse.  They NEVER LAST A YEAR.  A moderate wind gust will mangle the soft aluminium parts as shown in the photo.  I installed 'new' ones in June... toast by mid August!
