I'm amazed at how efficient this circuit is. I've done a few quick tests. The most current I've drawn and measured is this: I've set the output to 17 V and drew 6.9 A which it handled no problem with 30 V on the input drawing 4 A. I think I'll buy more of these. Review: Failed after 4 days - I used this in a solar setup to down voltage a 12v pond aerator to 6v. It worked like a dream for about 4 days, typically drawing about an amp and barely feeling even slightly warm. Then on the 4th or 5th day I noticed it was too hot to touch (I could even smell the heat), and drawing about twice the normal current. I stood there for about a minute, watching the power consumption on the charge controller's display go up and up and up and decided to very quickly disconnect the device. Something has clearly failed and I'll be returning it at the weekend. Tested up to 15A but gets warm at higher currents.
