What helps be mindful? Reducing negative thinking, stress reduction, focusing, less emotional reactivity and other factors. One of the main tools to be more mindful is to mediate. The book considers two types of meditations and shows difference between them. One is concentration meditation and another one is mindful meditation. The author also writes about other types of meditations and simple meditation techniques. Personally I found mindfulness exercises are very useful in the book and I try to practice them everyday. It decreased my blood pressure, normalized my sleeping, I became more balanced and enjoy life more now. I follow mentioned techniques everyday and my life is getting lighter and brighter. Before It was different. I was so much self-absorbed and depressed, so I couldn’t see colors of life. I just realized that only mindful approach can change the essence of life. There are also good recommendations for practicing yoga with detailed descriptions of poses. I like mindfulness quotes, which a bonus chapter. It’s a long list from famous people and it asserts the author’s viewpoint.

I have read a lot of mindfulness guides and this one is nothing extra special, but it is a good introduction for beginners. I like how it leans more towards practice and has great advice, and not so much on theoretical stuff like some other books I have seen. That makes starting out so much easier. The thing I didn't like is too much space wasted on quotes about mindfulness at the end of the book. I mean, that is just filler, who needs 100+ quotes. But, other than that, a pretty good book for those curious about mindfulness.

This is a very concise guide on mindfulness and how you can start practicing it in your life. I loved how the author started with explaining what mindfulness is, its benefits, exercises on how you can get started as well as detailed descriptions of yoga poses and meditation techniques. The author has a simple way of explaining his ideas in a way that one can immediately understand, comprehend and apply in his or her life. The book would have been more enjoyable if the yoga poses were illustrated to ensure proper understanding and stances. The bonuses at the end of the chapter including over fifty five mindfulness tips, quotes and smartphone applications to inculcate the practice of mindfulness into one's life was very insightful and helpful. All in all, a very beneficial and motivating book.
