I removed some gel polish and my nails are a mess, peeling and splitting.** A: I started out using Formula 3 -- and my nails became strong for the first time in my LIFE. I used this for approximately 3 years and never had any problems -- eventually applying 2-3 times a week; then removing with a gentle nail polish remover once a week, and starting afresh. 6 months ago I tried the Formula 2+ and it seemed to FIX two nails that had problems in the cuticle area -- those problems/damages have completely cleared up. Now I alternate between the 2+ and the 3. But I am careful, when applying, to NOT get any on my skin or cuticles around my nails -- and wipe any excess off these areas immediately. Good luck! **Q: Does this product work well as a base coat on its own, or should I add one on top of it to prevent staining?** A: I've used 1-2 coats of this as my base coat for about a year and I have never had the polish I apply over it stain my nails. Also, my nails have not yellowed. I keep colored polish on them 80% of the time. When I'm not wearing polish, I keep the Nailtiques 2 Plus on them. When I don't, my nails begin to peel again.
