Food also slides off without a problem too. The of the spatula is tapered, so I have even been able to cut items in the pan while cooking too. Admittedly, this is an expensive spatula, but if taken care of it, it should last a lifetime, so I was willing to invest in it. There are some alternative brands out there that do almost as good for a significantly lower price though. Originally, I had just one of these, but there were a number of times where I needed two, so I purchased a second one. Side Note: Since this is a metal spatula, you should never use it on non-stick cookware. You need plastic spatulas for those.
