## Description

Review: Great sound, terrible build quality. - I loved the sound on these IEMs. Really fantastic. I didn't even have the cutting in and out problem most people did. My problem was that when I tried changing the cord to the one with the microphone, I broke the IEMs. It felt like breaking cheap plastic. I didn't even use all that much force. If you treat them well they'll be worth the cost, but don't expect them to stand up to any amount of abuse.
Review: Significant upgrade over Triple-fi 10s - I've owned and enjoyed the TF10s for several years and was excited when these came out. I scoured review sites like Headfi and others trying to determine whether the UE900s would be worth the upgrade, or whether I should spend bit more on customs (JH16s, 1964s, etc) or Sennheiser IE800s. Most of these reviews highlighted the improved presence/detail in the mid-range, as well as the improved low-end definition. While I can't compare to customs or the IE800s, I believe these are a big upgrade over the TF10s. The in-ear fit is significantly better, and the addition of volume controls for the iPhone is welcome - as is the L-shaped headphone jack. The braided cord also seems to twist less, although it can be prone to tangling when wrapped up. The sound is simply fantastic in my opinion. I hear details and presence in the mid-range instruments & vocals, improved soundstage/separation of instruments, etc. I can now also hear the 'empty space' when a song ends and you hear the faint echo/decay of the notes. The UE900s make beautiful music and I find myself listening to many recordings over again. Two things though about the sound, which has been pointed out in other reviews: 1. The treble doesn't have quite the same 'sparkle' as the TF10s. I raised the upper frequencies on my iPhone/iTunes EQ to compensate 2. I find the vocals almost too upfront - while the TF10s are very recessed (especially after you listen to the UE900s), I feel the UE900s could have backed off just a bit Maybe someday I'll find the perfect universal earphone, but for now I'm enjoying the heck out of the UE900s. Well worth the upgrade

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can someone please compare directly against Shure SE535?**
A: 900 has more detail and separation than the Shures. The only problem with the 900 is the "connection" issue. That is why I returned mine.

**Q: What is the fix for the connection issue with the UE 900s? I'm finding that the cutting in and out is getting more frequent over time. *** EDIT 05/07 - I did find that a drop of DeoxIT on both ends of the wire-to-earpiece connection resolved this problem - nice solid connection with no drop outs or static.**
A: I have had no issue with the connection, so as far as a fix I am not to sure. but from experience with other headphones and earbuds, if you are having an issue it's normally a frayed wire, I would suggest switching the earphones to the other wire that came with your ue 900's and see if that works, if not I would contact logitech and get them fixed if they are still under warranty

**Q: Is the portion of the cable that goes over your ear moldable or just a sorta pre-shaped stiffer section?**
A: The hard plastic is a moldable piece that retains its shape after you adjust it. It'll allow you to bend in any direction.

**Q: What is the product warranty?**
A: Hi Joseph, Logitech does a 2 year warranty on their 9000's.....i hope this helps...they sound unbelievable!!!

Great, but both of the cables wore out with in a year. Fortunate that third party providers have that covered. Sound truly is great.
