## Description

When you get our Commander + Pack Bag, you're getting the Commander Freighter Frame PLUS a 5250 cubic inch Pack Bag. The Pack Bag is great for getting all your gear to your base camp. The Pack Bag includes a front pocket, spotting scope pocket, rifle holder, and 2 side accessory hinged pockets, in addition to the main compartment. Once you empty out your Pack Bag, it can be easily detached so the Commander can be used as a Freighter Frame also. The Commander Freighter Frame allows you to haul your meat from one place to the next. The Commander comes equipped with a unique lashing system to secure your meat. With as much weight as you'll be carrying, a padded waist belt and shoulder straps are a must. There are pockets for your flashlight and knife, as well as a holder for your shooting stix on the lashing straps. With the Commander Pack Bag, you really get 2 products in one - a Pack Bag and a Freighter Frame!

Review: Great pack for the price. - Excellent pack. The link ups rattle so I would recommend taping them after purchase. I do 4 and 5 day pack hunts and I usually carry about 70lb of gear in with me on average. I have always over packed my Alice pack but after getting this pack. Night and day. I would like to have had more molly attachments and a few things I will be upgrading in the future but this pack is a great buy. While fully loaded with a long gun in carry it seems to favor the left side because the long gun is not in center carry. I offset this by how I put weight in the pack. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

The pins used to customize the size of the frame and placement of the shoulder straps come with cotter pins and rings. I recommend the rings, as the cotter pins will rotate and can poke you in the back and shoulders when moving. My only complaint, other than the cotter pins, is that it came with a secondary pack bag, which i won't use. I see the purpose in it, and i ordered the pack that came with it (I get that), but an option for a rain cover would have been nice. Further, for the purpose that i plan on using it, I will also drop the folding shelf to reduce the weight a little more. I have only taken it on one short hike, with a light load, but it seems to be sturdy. The zippers are large, solid, and tight, and the material appears like it will hold up to some abuse. Overall, I would recommend this pack, especially for the price point.

**Q: I am looking at doing a 8 day caribou hunt at a drop camp. Would this bag be a wise choice for that?**
A: Yes, a very good choice. It is very comfortable to use. Be sure to adjust the torso length for shoulder straps. You could also go with the Commander X but all you get for a very much higher price are some detachable bags to wear for day hikes, so just bring your own if you need a day pack.

**Q: Does this come with a rain fly?**
A: Yea

**Q: I bought this bag and love it but I have worn out the shoulder straps and they are going to fail soon. Are replacements available?**
A: Not sure if the Alps brand are available, but any free pack straps will work, you just may not get your same color

**Q: Can you make a separate attachment pack of a different size or a couple different size attachment packs that affix to the same frame for various hikes**

This pack is much larger than it appears on the images, it stands approximately 3 feet tall. This thing has plenty of room, and a metal bar that holds the top open. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Its good enough for elk hunting

Its a very bulky pack. Thats good and bad. Went on an elk hunt that ended 30 mins after shooting light. Spent the rest of the day packing off of a mountain. Parts that were good: Well its got enough room for as much as you can lift. Before the hunt I used it to pack in 100 lbs of corn at a time on my oklahoma lease for my deer hunting. I would carry around my daughters on the shelf while mucking around at the farm. The spare pockets are great, and the basic idea is good. cons: After getting my elk down I packed out the first load and immediately cached my rifle at my pick up because it was flopping around while under weight. Its bulky as hell. Yes you can carry as much as you can lift, but the frame catches any tree limbs. Lucky for me, I was hunting mostly timber less areas of the mountain. If i had to make my way through any brush with the weight, well Id probably still be packing it out. The pockets are great if you're organized but its easy to loose stuff in the main compartment. Final gripe. im 5'10 (guys, if you're 5'10 stop saying youre 6 foot tall) and with a full pack, and it properly set up on my body, the top of the frame was in almost constant contact with the back of my head. It wasn't a deal breaker, but after 6 miles, a few hundred lbs and the knowledge that you have a few trips more, you won't like it. End of the day, Id buy it because its a good price. It holds up. Hell you can pull it off and wash the blood off it, slap it on and go hunt again. Im sure its going to be a great hike bag for back country camp outs. Would I take it to Alaska and hunt alders for moose? No. But for high country and desert, its good enough for a working man who spends his money where it counts.
